Diabetes is a chronic illness that can come in several forms. The main types of diabetes are type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes. The majority of diabetes cases seen worldwide are of the type 2 variety. Let us take a closer look at the evolution of type 2 diabetes.

Diabetes: Color Tattoos Can Help

Diabetes: Color Tattoos Can Help

Tattoos That Change Color Could Help People with Diabetes
Researchers are developing tattoos that change color in response to changing sodium and blood sugar levels. This could make life easier for diabetes patients.
Tattoos of the future may be much more than just decorative statements.
They may be able to tell you whats happening inside your body.
A team of researchers from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and Harvard Medical School, have developed tattoo ink that changes color in response to changes in the body.
Three different inks have been developed that change color in response to changing pH levels, sodium levels, and blood sugar levels.
Although the project, called Dermal Abyss , is in the earliest stages of research, the applications of the technology could be broad.
The concept of utilizing biosensing tattoos offers an attractive alternative for health monitoring in vivo for a range of medical complications, including diabetes, acidosis, alkalosis, electrolyte imbalance, and hypertension, the researchers write.
The ink that senses changes in blood sugar turns from blue to brown as blood sugar levels rise.
It could be particularly useful for people living with diabetes who are required to regularly check their blood sugar levels.
Diabetes management involves constantly thinking about the disease, which can lead to a sense of burnout. One of the hardest things about type 1 diabetes is that it is, in a sense, always there, Dr. Elvira Isganaitis, a research associate and endocrinologist at the Joslin Diabetes Center in Massachusetts, told Continue reading

Vedda Blood Sugar Remedy Review A Punch to Diabetes?

Diabetes, which has to do with blood sugar problems, is a dangerous illness. We may have laughed it off in earlier years, berating those who were diagnosed with it. Since it is commonly linked with obesity and overdosing on unhealthy foods, some may think of it as just a diet restriction.
Now we know that diabetes can have very, very serious consequences and can cause miscarriages, paralysis, dissolving of muscle, and even death. Whats even scarier is that younger and younger individuals are being diagnosed with it every day.
When one is diagnosed with diabetes , they are usually given several drugs to keep the disease in check. However, these drugs usually cause many more side effects that could harm several areas of the body. Plus, prescriptions and diagnosis for diabetes may actually be designed to keep one on drugs forever.
You may have noticed that very rarely do doctors advise their patients to go off their meds. Even if the symptoms of a disease abate, you almost never hear the words you should stop taking your meds now.
Ever wondered why this is so? Even a broken bone mends eventually, and may soon be as good as new. So why is it that people taking diabetes meds seem to only get worse, not better?
Instead of being led on a wild-goose chase, there is now an alternative we might consider. This is a natural blood sugar lowering system that has prevented diabetes for many, many individuals and is called the Vedda Blood Sugar Protocol.

What to Eat for Breakfast When You Have Diabetes
Lindsey Waldman, MD, RD on November 08, 2019
Eating a balanced breakfast is important, especially if you have diabetes. In fact, researchers have found that skipping breakfast makes you more at risk of developing type 2 diabetes. But figuring out exactly what to eat can be tricky. Having a plan in place can help you save time and prevent you from making a choice that might affect your glucose control later in the day. Here are a few tips to keep in mind.
Studies have shown that eatinga higher fat andmoderate protein breakfast may actually help to reduce fasting blood sugar, A1c, and weight. The likelyreasonis that these types of breakfast choices are lower in carbohydrates. Some people with diabetes experience higher blood sugars in the morning becausethe liver breaksdown sugar overnightand the cells can also be a bit more resistant to insulin at this time.
Also, blood sugar tends to rise after breakfastup to two times higher than after lunch. High blood sugar after meals (postprandial) can result in carbohydrate cravings because the sugar stays in the bloodstream instead of going into the cells, and then the cells signal to the body that it needs to eat more sugar (or carbohydrates) to effectively fuel itself.
Eating a lower-carb breakfast will minimize the resulting glucose response and means your blood sugar will be better balanced throughout the day.
All food can be classified into macronutrient categories as carboh Continue reading

Diabetes And Essential Oils | Diabetic Connect

Maybe youve heard your running buddy raving that his sore is gone after treating it with lavender oil, or your neighbor bragging on Facebook that her whole family is feeling less stressed after introducing something called bergamot into her home. But when you search online, all of the information about essential oils like these can get confusing. Whats fact, and whats fiction? You cannot cure your diabetes with essential oils, and you wont be able to force your blood sugar higher or lower, but this alternative treatment may be able to help relieve some symptoms that are common in people with diabetes.
The two main diabetes issues where essential oils may help are skin and wound care and stress management. Only a limited number of clinical trials have tested the effectiveness of essential oils at reducing these symptoms, but anecdotal evidence may be enough to make you want to talk with your doctor about adding essential oils to your treatment plan.
Essential oils are extremely concentrated forms of distilled extracts from leaves, roots, stems, flowers, and seeds. Different oils are thought to benefit you in different ways via aromatherapy. Researchers from the University of Maryland define aromatherapy as "the use of essential oils from plants for healing." Oils can be inhaled by wafting from the bottle or from a diffuser that disperses the oils scent throughout a room. They can also be rubbed directly onto the skin (diluted with a carrier oil like coconut oil or grape seed oil), often on the bottom of the feet or back of the neck.
You can find essential oils through o Continue reading
