Miss. Lawmaker Suggests Woman Buy Daughter's Diabetes Meds After She Writes for Help

A Mississippi state representative suggested that a woman buy her family's diabetes medication after she wrote to him to ask for help with increasing difficulties obtaining Medicaid assistance.
Richland resident Nicole Nichols wrote to the Mississippi House of Representatives Monday morning to voice her concern that children with Type 1 diabetes "aren't getting the necessary diabetes supplies and meds they need to stay healthy."
"We have recently begun having a lot of problems with Medicaid/CHIPS coverage of the essential diabetes supplies needed, not only to keep our kids healthy, but to literally keep them alive," Nichols wrote to Mississippi lawmakers. "No parents should have to fight for so long for their child's essential medical supplies and medical needs when it's explicitly stated as a covered benefit."
Later that day, Mississippi State Rep. Jeffrey Guice, R-Ocean Springs, replied, "I am sorry for your problem. Have you thought about buying the supplies with money that you earn?"
The mother of two, whose 8-year-old daughter, Bella, has Type 1 diabetes, told ABC News she has been filled with "silent fury" since she received Guice's response. Two other state representatives responded to her email as well, but Guice's was the only negative one, she said.
Nichols posted the exchange to a Facebook page Living in the World of Test Strips, which provides community support for parents of children with Type 1 diabetes. This morning, she attended a special session at the Mississippi State Capitol, where Guice was in attendance, and spoke to several reporters about the problem Continue reading

Statin Scam Exposed: Cholesterol Drugs Cause Rapid Aging, Brain Damage, And Diabetes

Statin Scam Exposed: Cholesterol Drugs Cause Rapid Aging, Brain Damage, And Diabetes

Please get anyone you love or care about off the statin drugs. They poison the liver so it does not make cholesterol. The BIG issue is that your brain is 80% cholesterol so you might as well write Alzheimer’s on the bottle another medical community caused disease !!!!
Millions of people are taking cholesterol-lowering drugs known as statins to lower their cholesterol. It’s a 29 billion dollar industry that had most of us fooled completely. Doctors prescribe these statin drugs regularly against heart attack, stroke, inflammation and other health ailments. However, despite their incredible popularity, cholesterol lowering drugs failed to prevent heart attack and stroke. Instead, they can cause cancer and other serious health problems.
In the new documentary film $29 Billion Reasons to Lie About Cholesterol, Justin Smith states,
” … between 1994 and 2006 the percentage of men aged 65 to 74 with ‘high’ cholesterol decreased from 87% to 54% … Despite this, the rate of coronary heart disease for this age group stayed about the same … Other age groups have experienced an increase in the rate of heart disease as the number of people with ‘high’ cholesterol has decreased.”
CHOLESTEROL-LOWERING DRUGS CAUSE CANCER
Well-designed studies have shown the link between cholesterol-lowering drug use and cancer.
In the Journal of the American Medical Association in 1996 stated:
All members of the two most popular classes of lipid-lowering drugs (the fibrates and the statins) cause cancer in rodents, in some cases at levels of animal exposure close to those prescribed to Continue reading

Keeping my kids with diabetes alive costs thousands a year. Trumpcare terrifies me.

Keeping my kids with diabetes alive costs thousands a year. Trumpcare terrifies me.

Last week, the House of Representatives passed the American Health Care Act, which would cut Medicaid considerably and allow insurance companies to charge people with preexisting conditions significantly more for coverage. As a mom of four kids — two with Type 1 diabetes, an unpreventable, incurable and expensive disease — I am terrified that this bill will put my children’s lives at risk if it becomes law.
I will never forget that day in 2012 when our doctor told me and my husband our 2-year-old son had diabetes. At first, we were frightened for his health and future. We knew that if the disease wasn’t managed correctly with the right diet, dosage of insulin and vigilant care, he could not only get very sick, not only potentially lose his sight or a limb — but he could die. We were devastated all over again when our almost-3-year-old daughter also was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes earlier this year. The medications, the insulin pumps and the glucose monitors our son and daughter rely on are necessities. Having them is literally a matter of life and death.
That is why the AHCA worries us so much. I am self-employed, and my husband does not receive insurance through his employer. Our family relies on an HMO plan we purchased on the D.C. “Obamacare” exchange. It costs us about $18,000 a year to insure our family. Even with this coverage, we still spend about another thousand more on health care. The diabetes supplies alone for our two kids cost about $12,000 a year — and, again, we can’t simply look for cheaper options or do without some supplies without se Continue reading

Chelsea warns of ‘horrifying’ report on diabetes & global warming; response is NOT what she’d hoped for

Chelsea warns of ‘horrifying’ report on diabetes & global warming; response is NOT what she’d hoped for

Global warming is causing diabetes, y’all!
That’s what former first daughter Chelsea Clinton suggested on Twitter — after which she got ruthlessly fact-checked and mocked.
“Horrifying research shows correlation between global warming and rise in diabetes cases,” Clinton tweeted.
Chelsea linked to an inane Los Angeles Times article claiming that global warming could lead to an additional “100,000 diabetes cases” a year in the United States:

Dismissing the longstanding adage in statistics that correlation is not causation, Chelsea pushed her climate-change agenda while ignoring the fact that most experts say type 2 diabetes is induced by poor diet, lifestyle choices, obesity and heredity.

Not surprisingly, Twitter let her have it.
@ChelseaClinton First rule of statistics – correlation is not causation.

@ChelseaClinton I'm horrified that this crap passes as a tangible start for a political career.
Also, Bill Clinton is a rapist.

Top 5 Diabetes Super Foods

Top 5 Diabetes Super Foods

Article
Even though we live in a pill-popping, drug-oriented culture, more and more people are starting to realize that food is really our best medicine. In 90% of all chronic and degenerative diseases, poor diet is either the direct cause or a significant factor. This is especially true for Type 2 diabetes. There is no stage of Type 2 that can’t be helped by making some smart dietary changes. And the earlier they are made, the more dramatic the health improvements will be.
The “prescription” is simple
A few simple changes in a patient’s eating habits can actually reverse Type 2 so that all metabolic functions, including the body’s insulin production, return to normal.
Here’s the shorthand version…
Quit consuming the foods and beverages that spike your blood sugar and trigger the insulin response (sweets, sodas, juices, plus refined carbs such as bread, baked goods, pasta, chips, and grain-based commercial foods, like breakfast cereals). Over-consuming these can cause Type 2, and even small amounts will make it worse.
Start eating more of the foods that heal the damage that insulin-resistance and diabetes have done to your body. Do this by turning your diet into an anti-inflamatory diet as inflammation is one of the root causes of diabetes (beware: inflammation destroys the insulin-producing beta cells in the pancreas). In this diet try to include plenty of what I call “the diabetes-healing superfoods.” Here are the top 5 according to extensive scientific research…
1. Extra-virgin olive oil (EVOO)
If you have diabetes or prediabetes, controlling blood su Continue reading
