Think You Can’t Get Rid Of Cellulite

Think You Can’t Get Rid Of Cellulite

This morning I was at the gym and a woman was cycling next to me and asked another woman who was next to her “ how did you managed to get rid of all that cellulite?” Apart that this was an awkward moment and I intensified my cycling so as to avoid my take into that discussion at that point in time I could not take of that question from my mind. So let’s make it clear… Despite what you`ve heard about trapping toxins or poor circulation being to blame, cellulite is one thing – fat. It just looks different because of how it`s arranged. Everyone has strands of connective tissue that separate fat cells into compartments and connect fat tissue to the skin. In women, these fibers form a honeycomb-like pattern, so any increase of fat in a given area tends to bulge. You don`t see cellulite in men because their fibers run in a horizontal, criss-cross pattern that prevents bulging or dimpling. The truth is that long term and consistent, proper training and nutrition can lead to a better body condition such as to reduce cellulite. People tend to start training and after losing some kilos of fat pretend that that’s what is all about. That is just stage one. Well done, you are losing fat, etc… The real thing? It`s to learn to live it. Like in any other aspect of life such as if someone’s unique option is to wear glasses to see clearly and to learn to live wearing glasses, so be it. This is a hot topic and through my experience I got into detail on this topic. I designed a proven and effective anti cellulite 8 weeks Program. The best part of this program is that it puts to rest the mistaken notion that cellulite is some mysterious condition. Stop making excuses and try it out! I am not saying that with just 8 weeks your cellulite is going to disappear to make quick sal Continue reading >>

7 Realistic Ways To Get Rid Of Cellulite

7 Realistic Ways To Get Rid Of Cellulite

Cellulite happens. It’s a very common problem not only in women but in men as well. Cellulite doesn’t discriminate either. It affects the young and the old, the skinny and the non-skinny, and the fun and boring. The important thing to keep in mind about cellulite is that it’s just fat and therefore it is fixable. It just seems different than other fat because it pushes against the connective tissue causing the skin above it to pucker. You also don’t have to worry about it being harmful. To some people the worst thing it is, is unsightly. What Causes Cellulite It’s important to keep in mind that having cellulite doesn’t necessarily mean you are overweight because thin people get it as well. However, if you are overweight then losing weight can reduce cellulite. So what causes it? It can be a number of different things. These include: Poor diet Slow metabolism Lack of physical activity (couch potatoes) Hormone changes (for women this is usually decreased estrogen levels) Dehydration Thickness and color of skin If you want to get scientific about it, then the main cause of cellulite is believed to be a lack of blood flow to the affected region. This means that when circulation decreases, collagen levels decrease as well allowing the fat cells to enlarge. So when we say that cellulite is fat that pushes against the connective tissue another way to think about it is when the fat cells grow they push their way to the top of the skin as it becomes less elastic. Weak skin combined with large fat cells is a recipe for cellulite. If you are looking for a super quick “fix” to cellulite are light-skinned then you can apply self-tanner because cellulite tends to be less noticeable on darker skin. 7 Effective Ways to Get Rid of Cellulite Fast First, it’s important t Continue reading >>

I Have Developed Cellulite On A Ketogenic Diet. How Is It Possible To Gain Fat On This Diet?

I Have Developed Cellulite On A Ketogenic Diet. How Is It Possible To Gain Fat On This Diet?

This is a really good question - I would be frustrated too in your situation. I think there are several factors that may be playing in to the response your body is having: First, you mention you’re eating less than 20 net carbs per day (which is great!), but you don’t mention your other macros - protein and fat. Remember, Keto is a low carb, moderate protein, and high fat diet with daily targets for all three of these macronutrients. If you’re only counting your carbs, your other macros may be totally out of whack, which could explain why you’ve gained fat. On keto, you’ll find that some people focus on percentages for each of the three macros I’ve listed above (65%-75% fat, 20%-30% protein, and 5%-10% carbs), but I think it’s much easier to calculate exactly how much of each you should be eating each day by counting grams rather than trying to calculate percentages all day. So on keto, the recommended starting point for most people in grams for each of the macros is 20 net grams of carbs, 50–75 grams of protein for women/100–125 grams of protein for men, and at least a 1:1 up to a 1:2 ratio of protein to fat for everyone. But as I said, these numbers are simply starting points. Everyone is different and their bodies will react differently to any dietary change, so these numbers are not set in stone. I recommend trying to hit these targets when you first start keto and then adjusting them if necessary once you’ve been on the diet for a while to achieve maximum benefits. So make sure you’re tracking all three macros. If you haven’t been doing that, try starting to track and see what happens. If you have been tracking all three, ask yourself if you have been hitting the targets I suggested. One thing that can be a problem is getting too much protei Continue reading >>

Dear Carrie: Cellulite

Dear Carrie: Cellulite

Hi again, everyone. Thanks for the comments and emails in response to my last post on menopause and hot flashes. I’m working on getting through your questions and hope to do several posts throughout the summer that speak specifically to issues that matter to women. Now that summer is here for most of the country, it seems like a good time to share a frequent reader issue this time of year. Dear Carrie, I’m 35 and have been Primal for almost two years now. I’ve always been fairly thin, but going Primal in my eating and exercise has helped me get in better shape and build muscle. Unfortunately, I’m still plagued with some cellulite on the backs of thighs and hips. (Can I mention that I hate swimsuit season?) Why is cellulite so stubborn? Every “miracle cure” I’ve ever tried did next to nothing. Tell it to me straight – will this ever go away? Is there anything I can do? Thanks to you and Mark for everything you do with the Primal community. Janet Janet, you’re in good company – including in the Primal community. Cellulite is as stubborn as it is common. As you say, all kinds of products and procedures promise the moon but rarely deliver. The actual physiology of cellulite makes it hard to actually eliminate. Nonetheless, there are some Primal style approaches for both minimizing the look and addressing the causes of it. As Mark likes to say, let’s first break it down. Cellulite describes the sometimes pitted appearance of fat deposits in the body. It’s most often seen on the thighs and derrière, but it can show up the hips, stomach, and upper arms as well. In milder cases, the tell-tale texture only shows up if you pinch the area or if the area is compressed (like when you bend down or cross your legs). In other cases, it’s visible regardless of Continue reading >>

7 Morning Rituals To Get Rid Of Pesky Cellulite

7 Morning Rituals To Get Rid Of Pesky Cellulite

If you’ve tried to get rid of cellulite you know just how resilient it can be. The trick is to establish daily habits that will eventually stop it from getting worse and send it in the opposite direction. Starting your day off right is key, and these morning rituals will provide results if they become a habit. 1. Drink Lemon Water Upon Waking This simple ritual carries with it some pretty big results, and is as easy as squeezing fresh lemon juice into some hot water and sipping it as you would a cup of tea. Be sure to use organic lemons for this, as well as purified water, or distilled water. It isn’t just your cellulite that is affected by this ritual, but the way your body is able to break down the food you’ll be eating throughout the day. You’re also getting a jumpstart on rehydrating the body after a night of sleep and no water intake. How it Helps: The lemon helps the body in a number of ways, and one of these ways is getting the blood to flow to your skin, and helping to carry waste out of the body. It will also help you strengthen your immune system thanks to the Vitamin C that the lemons contain. 2. Do Some Cellulite-Busting Exercises It may be hard to establish a morning exercise routine, but once you have it set as a habit you’ll feel strange if you go a morning without it. You may have heard that you can’t spot treat when it comes to losing weight, but with cellulite it’s all about building up some muscle underneath it to help break up the cellulite in that area. The backs of the thighs is one problem area that can lead to a lot of frustration. Try lunge kicks, which will help to tighten up your hamstrings and help you work out the kinks when done in the morning. Here’s a great targeted exercise video that you can incorporate into your morning Continue reading >>

How To Get Rid Of Cellulite And Feel Better About Yourself

How To Get Rid Of Cellulite And Feel Better About Yourself

0 Anybody who has it often wonders how to get rid of cellulite. No matter where you have it or how much, these unsightly deposits of fat on the body create a real nightmare. Many women experience cellulite showing up after pregnancy. Even a sudden weight gain can set the stage for unexpected cellulite throughout the body which can give you a very unwelcome surprise! The best strategy is never to get it in the first place but it always seems to sneak up on us, and you will want to develop a strategy to eliminate it. While it’s true that there is no such thing as spot training to effectively remove cellulite, you can tone specific areas. When you consider how to get rid of cellulite you want to be absolutely certain that you utilize the right approach and really give it your all. Some Serious Strength Training The most important way to get rid of cellulite by far is strength training. The biggest misconception is that cardio alone is the way to remove these fatty deposits from the skin, but this is not true. While you do want to do some cardio, you want to really place a great emphasis on strength training. Not only will this help to melt away the layer of fat that makes up the cellulite, but it also helps to build muscle tone and strengthen bones. If you want the appearance of the cellulite to subside and the area to look leaner, then you need to reduce the fat and tone muscles. One of the only proven ways to do so is to concentrate on effective strength training. While you can concentrate on the area with cellulite, you want to give a good all over body workout. This will improve your metabolism to help get rid of the fat and increase lean muscle tissue. That is how you get rid of cellulite after all. Fat Burning Cardio With an Emphasis On Variety You do want to parti Continue reading >>

How To Get Rid Of Cellulite On Legs

How To Get Rid Of Cellulite On Legs

The two most frequent topics we get asked about here at Metabolic Effect are belly fat and lower body fat (specifically What Causes Cellulite). I have already written pretty extensively on the physiology of belly fat (You can read those blogs HERE, and HERE and also HERE). In this blog I want to attack the issue of lower body fat and address the “what causes cellulite and getting rid of cellulite” issues particularly. I can’t tell you how often I have been asked question regarding cellulite and the variety of ways I have been asked: What causes cellulite? How do you get rid of cellulite? And is it even possible to get rid of cellulite? Cellulite is really the combination of two factors, fat and collagen fibers. The problem is that this fat and collagen is a little different than the fat and collagen found on a man’s body and even different than fat found on different areas of the female physique. What causes cellulite? Compared to men, women have collagen fibers in their lower body that run vertically up and down like a picket fence. This straight up and down distribution of collagen fibers is the major reason females get cellulite and men don’t. (Estimates are 90% of women have some degree of cellulite compared to 10% of men.) The superficial collagen of men forms more of a mesh. If women have the picket fence distribution of collagen, men have the “chain link fence” distribution. Where women’s fibers run up and down, male fibers crisscross. This is important because the vertical distribution of female collagen fibers, more prevalent in the female lower body, form a sort of pocket in which fat cells then grow (see the picture above). As the fat cells grow in size they are essentially corralled in and packed tightly together by the collagen fibers. Pictu Continue reading >>

Cellulite Is Curable: Here’s 3 Ways To Do So

Cellulite Is Curable: Here’s 3 Ways To Do So

You are not a victim to your genetics. The study of Epigenetics has proven that it is possible to turn on and off genetic predispositions via envrionment control. The word Epigenetic literally means “behind genetics”. The root word epi is derived of the Greek word opi, meaning behind. In other words, epigeneitcs is the study of the causative factors that are behind the manifestation of genetic expression. This includes things like our thoughts, emotions, environment and actions – all which have an effect on the way our genes express themselves, which can be either in the direction of disease or health. 1 2 So, as with any other “disease” or “disorder”, cellulite too is the result of chronic various stressors that accelerate the aging process. This means that it can be managed, and usually handled with simple means such as leading a more natural lifestyle, eliminating toxins from your mind, social life, diet and environment. As you will learn in a moment, cellulite is in the most basic sense, a symptom of poor health. When unhealthy, the body doesn’t digestion well and therefore poorly metabolizes (weak Qi), which results in poor detoxification and the accumulation of toxins, metabolic wastes and fluids. When these toxins have no where to go because the detoxification systems are impaired, they begin to store in fat cells in various places, including the connective tissue of your skin. So, you can eliminate cellulite just like you can eliminate any other imbalance of the body – improving overall digestive and metabolic function. There is no question of that. This isn’t 1907, we can test and measure performance with science and the results are in — poor lifestyle choices, succumbing the environment and weakness of the spirit will is the true cause of Continue reading >>

How To Get Rid Of Cellulite The Biohacker Way

How To Get Rid Of Cellulite The Biohacker Way

Losing weight is one thing. Getting rid of cellulite is a whole other ballgame. Even people who are happy with their body composition complain about not being able to get rid of cellulite, listing it as one of the top things they would change about themselves if they could. Speaking as a former 300-pound guy, this is not just a problem for women! Before you spend huge sums of money on well-marketed cellulite-reducing moisturizers, body wraps, or expensive med-spa administered light pulses, I have three suggestions that are simpler, cheaper, and more effective. Plus, these tips will lower inflammation and make you stronger and more resilient as a whole. What works naturally, as you’d expect, transforms you from the inside-out instead of the other way around. Three of the most effective ways I’ve found to reduce cellulite are through acceleration training (whole body vibration), Bulletproof Intermittent Fasting, and high-intensity interval training (HIIT). The Top 3 Bulletproof Ways to Hack Your Cellulite In order to figure out how to treat cellulite, it helps to know what causes it. Cellulite is created by enlarged fat cells pushing up against the connective tissue (made partially of collagen) just below your skin.[1] Since these tissues aren’t very flexible when the fat cells beneath them expand, they push out on your skin and cause dimples and irregular bumps. The more fluid and toxins you retain, the larger the cells get, so the worse your cellulite looks. This is one of the reasons inflammatory foods make cellulite worse! Below are the three most effective Bulletproof methods to decrease cellulite. 1. Acceleration Training Cellulite has been shown to improve measurably with acceleration training.[2][3][4] The idea of acceleration training is to cause tissues th Continue reading >>

7 Key Facts About Getting Rid Of Cellulite

7 Key Facts About Getting Rid Of Cellulite

Over the years that I’ve been helping people deal with their weight and other issues – I’ve often been asked about how to get rid of cellulite. My standard answer has been “reverse the process that formed it in the first place” Which on the face of it seems pretty sensible though for many , that process happened over quite a long period of time. And really what they want is to be able to do, is get rid of it as quickly as possible. Yes diet will help a bit. Exercise will help a bit. But neither will get the smooth and sexy looking skin that the ladies remember they once had. Frankly, I’ve seen many claims for pills and potions, support pants and garments, loofars, rollers and massagers and many other weird, wacky and in my opinion down right daft – maybe even dangerous ways that supposedly get rid of cellulite. Strangely enough – none of these worked and up till only a short while ago, I did not have anything more to put forward. However that all changed recently and now I have seen something that I’m happy to suggest – more on that and the person behind it in a minute. (Or click Here if you can’t wait and just want to know what works). If you’ve tried any of these wacky things I’ve mentioned above, you know what I’m saying is the absolute truth. They are nothing but a total con as we’ll see. But before that, we need to ask the core question… Why don’t they work? And the main reason why they don’t work is because they are trying to treat the wrong problem! It’s as simple as that. Have you ever asked yourself the question… Just What is Cellulite? If we are to believe popular explanations, it is meant to be a special type of “fat gone wrong,” or a combination of fat, water, and “toxic wastes” that the body has failed to elim Continue reading >>

How To Burn Stored Body Fat — A Ketosis Primer

How To Burn Stored Body Fat — A Ketosis Primer

“So, how do you tell your body to start burning stored body fat?” my friend and fellow mother asked. “Cut the carbs,” answered another mom. “I go into ketosis just about every afternoon.” “Ketosis? Isn’t that bad for you?” The short answer? No. I talk to a lot of people who want to lose weight. They try all sorts of things — exercise, calorie restriction, you name it. Sometimes, they lose the weight. Inevitably, they gain it back. That’s because what they’re doing is going on a diet — a temporary fix at best. What they need is a lifestyle change, a perspective shift, a new paradigm. Of course, you all know the paradigm I espouse — a conversion to eating real, traditional foods. Yet even a conversion to eating real food won’t necessarily help the pounds melt away. If you’re still eating 200 grams of carbohydrates a day — even if they’re “traditional” carbohydrates like sprouted or soaked grains, unrefined sweeteners, etc, you’re not going to lose weight without making some serious changes. If your body is regularly storing body fat (you gain a little bit of weight each year), then something is wrong with how your body metabolizes food. Let me introduce you to a new concept: the body fat setpoint. The body fat setpoint is the mass of body fat that your body attempts to defend against changes in either direction. It’s your body’s attempt to maintain homeostasis. This is why if you exercise more, you eat more. It’s also why if you restrict calories, your metabolism slows down to compensate. Why should you care about the body fat setpoint? From Stephan at Whole Health Source: We care because this has some very important implications for human obesity. With such a powerful system in place to keep body fat mass in a narrow range, Continue reading >>
