Even fad diets are partly to blame, for introducing a whole new eating habit, such as high-protein diets. In the recent years, consumption of animal products and refined food items has increased, as more and more people leave out the daily supply of fruits and vegetables in their diet. Alkaline Diet Meal Plan - It comes as no surprise why, these days, many are suffering from different types of allergies, bone diseases, heart problems and many others. Some health experts link these diseases to the type of foods we eat. There are certain types of food that disrupts a certain balance in our body that, during such instance, health problems arise. If only we could modify our eating habits, its not unlikely that prevention of diseases and restoration of health is achieved. The Importance of Alkaline Our bodies need to maintain a healthy and steady alkaline to acid ratio, which is signified by the pH level of our body. The pH scale ranges from 0 to 14, and anything lower than 7 is considered acidic. Processed food items, meat and meat products, sweets, and some beverages and condiments generally produce excessive amounts of acidity in the body. Alkaline Diet Meal Plan - Acidosis, abnormally high acidity level in the blood and other tissues of the body, is the one thing that several different diseases have one thing in common. And many health experts believe that acidosis is responsible for a lot of fatal diseases that many people are afflicted with these days. The Alkaline Way: Ten Tips For Reversing

There's a lot of talk these days about following an "alkaline" diet as a way of restoring health and prolonging life. In principle a lot of the core ideas behind this approach make good physiological sense. Yet many people who try to follow an "alkaline lifestyle" are doing so based on observations that may be true in test tubes yet not true in physiology, in life, in reality. To make sensible lifestyle choices on this matter, it is important to understand a little bit about the chemistry and physiology of acid-base balance. All metabolic, neurohormonal, and immune system processes produce a net excess of acids. When foods induce immune reactions, additional acids are produced that lead to mineral loss in the urine, sweat and stool. Adaptive, acquired immune responses directly and indirectly generate substantial amounts of acidic products (Jaffe, R. Townsend Letter for Doctors and Patients, 2009; 316: 90-98). In people with B cell and/or T cell immune reactions and impaired buffering capacity, it is important to identify the causes of immune reactions by avoidance provocation or ex vivo lymphocyte response assays (LRA). Simply put, when cells are more alkaline, they are more toler Continue reading >>

I met a guy at the gym yesterday that swears by CKD. He says if you want to lose weight and protect your muscles from being targeted, this is the way to go.
The past 3 weeks I've been monitoring my calories, staying around 1300 calories (I'm 6' 1" 220lbs). And lifting 5-6 times a week. He stated that having a calorie deficit won't guarantee weight loss and could effect your gains.
My main goal is to get down to 12-15% body fat
Should I switch my diet up?
    Thanks in advance.

He stated that having a calorie deficit won't guarantee weight loss
A calorie deficit is one of the only things that guarantee's weight loss. As for CKD itself, most never are at the point where they would need to do it, and even then the benefits are questionable. For those on Keto who need a little extra boost, TKD works fine (check out the wiki in /r/ketogains). Either way, even on CKD you would need to just do plain Keto for a couple months to let your body adapt to Ketosis.

  3. Tjlholt

I read that being in Ketosis for too long will make your blood toxic, which is why CKD is better for your body. How long is too long?

Respiratory acidosis #sign and symptoms of Respiratory acidosis Respiratory acidosis ABGs Analyse https://youtu.be/L5MWy1iHacI Plz share n subscribe my chanel is a condition that occurs when the lungs cant remove enough of the Suctioning https://youtu.be/hMJGkxvXTW0 carbon dioxide (CO2) produced by the body. Excess CO2 causes the pH of blood and other bodily fluids to decrease, making them too acidic. Normally, the body is able to balance the ions that control acidity. This balance is measured on a pH scale from 0 to 14. Acidosis occurs when the pH of the blood falls below 7.35 (normal blood pH is between 7.35 and 7.45).Rinku Chaudhary NSG officer AMU ALIGARH https://www.facebook.com/rinkutch/ Respiratory acidosis is typically caused by an underlying disease or condition. This is also called respiratory failure or ventilatory failure. Suctioning https://youtu.be/hMJGkxvXTW0 Normally, the lungs take in oxygen and exhale CO2. Oxygen passes from the lungs into the blood. CO2 passes from the blood into the lungs. However, sometimes the lungs cant remove enough CO2. This may be due to a decrease in respiratory rate or decrease in air movement due to an underlying condition such as: asthma COPD pneumonia sleep apnea TYPES Forms of respiratory acidosis There are two forms of respiratory acidosis: acute and chronic. Acute respiratory acidosis occurs quickly. Its a medical emergency. Left untreated, symptoms will get progressively worse. It can become life-threatening. Chronic respiratory acidosis develops over time. It doesnt cause symptoms. Instead, the body adapts to the increased acidity. For example, the kidneys produce more bicarbonate to help maintain balance. Chronic respiratory acidosis may not cause symptoms. Developing another illness may cause chronic respiratory acidosis to worsen and become acute respiratory acidosis. SYMPTOMS Symptoms of respiratory acidosis Initial signs of acute respiratory acidosis include: headache anxiety blurred vision restlessness confusion Without treatment, other symptoms may occur. These include: https://www.healthline.com/health/res... sleepiness or fatigue lethargy delirium or confusion shortness of breath coma The chronic form of respiratory acidosis doesnt typically cause any noticeable symptoms. Signs are subtle and nonspecific and may include: memory loss sleep disturbances personality changes CAUSES Common causes of respiratory acidosis The lungs and the kidneys are the major organs that help regulate your bloods pH. The lungs remove acid by exhaling CO2, and the kidneys excrete acids through the urine. The kidneys also regulate your bloods concentration of bicarbonate (a base). Respiratory acidosis is usually caused by a lung disease or condition that affects normal breathing or impairs the lungs ability to remove CO2. Some common causes of the chronic form are: asthma chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) acute pulmonary edema severe obesity (which can interfere with expansion of the lungs) neuromuscular disorders (such as multiple sclerosis or muscular dystrophy) scoliosis Some common causes of the acute form are: lung disorders (COPD, emphysema, asthma, pneumonia) conditions that affect the rate of breathing muscle weakness that affects breathing or taking a deep breath obstructed airways (due to choking or other causes) sedative overdose cardiac arrest DIAGNOSIS How is respiratory acidosis diagnosed? The goal of diagnostic tests for respiratory acidosis is to look for any pH imbalance, to determine the severity of the imbalance, and to determine the condition causing the imbalance. Several tools can help doctors diagnose respiratory acidosis. Blood gas measurement Blood gas is a series of tests used to measure oxygen and CO2 in the blood. A healthcare provider will take a sample of blood from your artery. High levels of CO2 can indicate acidosis.

Acidosis Of The Blood (metabolic Acidosis) / Respiratory Acidosis Information

- - - - - - - - - - - - Back toTop - - - - - - - - - - - - Acidosis of the blood occurs when the body is overly acidic and has lost its alkaline reserves. Acidosis occurs when blood pH drops below 7.4. Dietary measures are critical because the body is more susceptible to illness and disease in an overly acidic state. Respiratory acidosis occurs when the lungs cannot remove all of the carbon dioxide (a normal by-product of metabolism) produced by the body. This causes a disturbance of the acid-base balance in which body fluids become excessively acidic. In chronic respiratory acidosis, mild impairment of the ability of the lungs to remove carbon dioxide occurs over a long period of time, leading to an unstable situation. This is because the kidneys increase their retention of bicarbonate to maintain an acid-base balance in the blood that is almost normal. In severe cases, the carbon dioxide builds up very quickly, leading to severe disturbances in the acid-base balance of the blood, i.e. blood acidosis. - - - - - - - - - - - - Back to Top - - - - - - - - - - - - Acidosis of the blood and bodily fluids often occurs as a result of improper diet. Intermittent Fasting For Keto

I've read a bit on this....who here is doing it, and what results have you had? what does your example schedule look like?
and the big question here is, any muscle loss? and I've read you can gain lean mass while doing this, but struggle to see how it's possible. Any help is appreciated from you fine bunch here in the Keto forum

  2. FrostFox

Fasting = LOTS OF MUSCLE LOSS.
You are 100% guaranteed to lose muscle when you fast. Your body is starving, and sees survival as eating muscle to reduce caloric expenditure.
Keto by itself is an extremely efficient way to lose fat. Remember, you want to lose fat, not weight. Weight = muscle + fat.

  3. Mourning Tide

Umm you are using fat as your primary energy srouce ALL the time while in ketosis so I dont see the point of fasted cardio unless you want to risk muscle loss.

Acidosis Herbal Treatment, Prevention, Symptoms, Causes, Cured By Abnormal increase of acidity in the body fluid The abnormal increase of acidity in the body fluid is Acidosis. Body fluids like Blood plasma, urine and electrolytes may be acidic or alkaline depending on the food we eat. A healthy body is slightly alkaline. Chronic acidity is bad. It leads to a diseased condition. It is called Acidosis. Acidity and Alkalinity are measured on a common scale called pH. The range is from 0 to 14. 0 to 7 is Acidic and 7 to 14 is Alkaline. Water is close to 7. A healthy body has a pH of 7.4 When the body's pH fall below 7.35, it means, Acidosis has set in. If the body's pH rises above 7.45, the body is again diseased and we call it Alkalosis. As you can see the window of health is very small and the balance is critical. If the pH of the blood plasma drops below 6.8 or rises above 7.8 the damage to the cells is irreversible. This balance is maintained by the Lungs and the Kidneys. Respiratory Acidosis : When the body fails to expel carbon dioxide, the levels of Carbon dioxide increases in the body. This results in Respiratory Acidosis. Metabolic Acidosis: When kidneys fail to excrete the Continue reading >>

I’ve noticed it everyone once in a while too – I can’t figure out what triggers it. I was guessing that it was caused by not enough carbs maybe? (I am really just grasping at straws here, have no idea.)

  3. Jade_Z

I read once that bad breath can be caused by hunger (also bad diet) – something to do with the stomach acids. I bet it stops after a while though, and I bet it is helped by drinking more.
