How To Get Rid Of Acidosis

How To Get Rid Of Acidosis

by Charlie Higgins; Updated September 30, 2017 To function properly, your body must have a healthy pH balance. When the body is overly acidic, it suffers from acidosis, a harmful condition that makes the body less resistant to illness both short and long term. Heart disease and cancer are more prevalent in people who live acidic lifestyles, meaning they consume overly acidic foods and dont allow the body to flush out toxins by exercising and drinking lots of water. Fortunately, you can restore the alkaline content in your body by following a few simple guidelines. Be consistent in your alkaline approach to living and youll reap the lifelong benefits of good health. Use pH hydrion test paper to measure the acid and alkaline levels in your body. A healthy pH reading should be around 7.36 and thus slightly alkaline. Hydrion test paper is easy to use and available at any pharmacy. Most tests ask you to dip the paper in your saliva or urine. Consume an alkaline diet. This means eating foods that fall on the alkaline spectrum rather than the acidic. Alkaline-rich foods are generally those that are already considered healthy for other reasons, though you may be surprised to find out certain foods are acidic. Find a list online of alkaline and acid levels in various foods and stick to a diet composed of 80 percent alkaline foods and 20 percent acidic or neutral foods. Leafy green vegetables, soy products, garlic and honey are some of the best alkalizing foods, while red meat, hard cheese, peanuts, beer and coffee are particularly acidic. The majority of fruits are considered neutral. Exercise regularly. Cardiovascular exercise such as jogging, bike riding, in-line skating and recreational sports reduce acidosis because they help the body get rid of toxins. When you work the mu Continue reading >>

5 Easy Tips To Alkalize And Avoid Acidosis

5 Easy Tips To Alkalize And Avoid Acidosis

5 Easy Tips To Alkalize And Avoid Acidosis Acidosis is a very common problem in our society today. This can become a dangerous condition that weakens all the body systems and its ability to resist disease. Acidosis, a medical condition that appears when your body pH is too acidic, falling below 7.35. It is measured on a scale of 0 to 14 the lower the pH the more acidic the solution, the higher the pH the more alkaline (or base) the solution. When a solution is neither acid nor alkaline it has a pH of 7 which is neutral. When acidosis occurs it gives rise to an internal environment allowing disease to invade our bodies, as opposed to a pH-balanced environment which allows normal body function necessary for the body to resist disease. It is important to understand that we are not talking about stomach acid or the pH of the stomach. We are talking about the pH of the bodys fluids and tissues which is an entirely different matter. This imbalance reduces our bodys ability to absorb minerals and nutrients, reduces the cells capacity to repair itself, and prevents the body from detoxing naturally. This affects every function of the body. One of the first steps that you should make is to make sure that your body has the right pH balance to avoid acidosis . You can easily monitor the pH balance of your body by having pH test strips kit, which can be purchased at most Health food stores or at your local a pharmacy. Some health issues that Acidosis can cause: Cardiovascular damage, Weight gain, Obesity, Diabetes, Bladder and Kidney conditions, Immune deficiency, Acceleration of free radical damage (cancer), Premature aging, Osteoporosis, Joint pain, Aching muscles, Headaches, Stress, Chronic Constipation, and Chronic Fatigue. "After digestion, absorption, and metabolism, nearly allfoods release either acid or bicarbonate (base) into the systemiccirculation. Fish, meat, poultry, eggs, shellfish, cheese, milk, and cereal grains are net acid producing, whereas freshfruit, vegetables, tubers, roots, and nuts are net base producing.Legumes yield near-zero mean acid values, which reflects anoverlapping distribution from slightly net acid producing to slightlynet base producing. Additionally, salt is net acid producing becauseof the chloride ion." Is Your Fatigue Related To Acidosis?

Is Your Fatigue Related To Acidosis?

Have you ever experienced extreme fatigue, felt like you could not recover from exercise, or even get your energy up enough to go exercise? Everyone says exercise is so good for the body! Why cant I get motivated? It may be because you have excess lactic acid built up in your system. Any impairment in your bodys ability to utilize oxygen efficiently can cause lactic acid to build up in your system and cause dysfunction. The body has an incredible mechanism for making energy even when we are oxygen deprived. An example of when we are oxygen deprived, is when we are working out hard and increasing our bodys oxygen demands. When this function becomes overwhelmed, lactic acid can build up in the muscles and tissues and cause extreme fatigue and acidosis. This article will dive into how this works and you will discover if your fatigue is related to acidosis. Lactic acidosis is a condition that occurs due to the accumulation of excess lactic acid in the blood. A human body typically has a pH level that is slightly basic or alkaline. Excess acid causes this pH to decrease and makes the pH level acidic. This is a very dangerous state for the body to be in because the function of each cell, tissue, and organ is significantly impaired. The body has many internal mechanisms in place to tightly regulate the bloods pH level and the slightest change in this level can result in severe organ dysfunction. Conditions that decrease blood oxygen levels, interfere with the mitochondria, or decrease the clearance of lactic acid can allow lactic acid to increase to harmful levels ( 3 ). Lactate is produced by anaerobic glycolysis, which means that glucose is metabolized without oxygen through a process known as lactic acid fermentation, in order to produce energy. This is a deviation from th Continue reading >>

Restoring Ph Balance In The Body

Restoring Ph Balance In The Body

Acid Alkaline Imbalance Over acidity—a dangerous condition that weakens all body systems—is common today. It gives rise to an internal environment conducive to disease, as opposed to a pH balanced environment which allows the normal body functions necessary to resist disease. Your body must maintain its internal pH within a very narrow range. A healthy body maintains adequate alkaline reserves to balance the acids in order to maintain this pH. When excess acids must be neutralized our alkaline reserves are depleted leaving the body in a weakened condition. A pH balanced diet, according to many experts, is a vital key to maintaining the reserves necessary for health maintenance. The concept of acid alkaline imbalance as the cause of disease is not new. In 1933 a New York doctor named William Howard Hay published a ground-breaking book, A New Health Era in which he maintains that all disease is caused by autotoxication (or "self-poisoning") due to acid accumulation in the body: Now we depart from health in just the proportion to which we have allowed our alkalies to be dissipated by introduction of acid-forming food in too great amount... It may seem strange to say that all disease is the same thing, no matter what its myriad modes of expression, but it is verily so.—William Howard Hay, M.D. More recently, in his remarkable book Alkalize or Die (recommended reading), Dr. Theodore A. Baroody says essentially the same thing: The countless names of illnesses do not really matter. What does matter is that they all come from the same root cause...too much tissue acid waste in the body!—Theodore A. Baroody, N.D., D.C., Ph.D. Understanding pH pH (potential of hydrogen) is a measure of the acidity or alkalinity of a solution. It is measured on a scale of 0 to 14—the low Continue reading >>

Many of us may not know the condition acidosis by name, but may have heard of the consequences it may have. In this condition, the body builds up far too high levels of acid. Though this may not sound serious, it can affect how the organs work and can lead to rather dire circumstances. Keeping acid balanced in an appropriate way and at normal levels is important to virtually every function that we depend upon. When the acid levels become too high, it can lead or contribute to high cholesterol, high blood pressure, kidney stones, or even a heart attack. Though the symptoms may vary or not even be visible, its important to be in tune to this very serious condition. If one suspects that they may be experiencing symptoms related to acidosis, it is extremely important to seek medical attention. A simple blood test will determine if the acid levels are in fact too high and if treatment needs to take place. This is something to be taken quite serious and a doctor will help to determine the source of the problem and any consequences that have occurred as a result. There are some medications that can help to solve the problem, but it can be helpful to know that there are also some excellent home remedies for acidosis. Honey is by far the single most efficient home remedy for acidosis. Many natural cures for this condition use honey as the basis, so if you want to try this on your own it can prove to be quite helpful. Eat a teaspoon of honey several times throughout the course of the day, and this will provide excellent results. Honey can help to lower elevated levels and bring things back to normal. This is an excellent cure to keep on hand if the problem should arise again in the future. Though such a simple cure, the consumption of raw fruits and vegetables can serve to be an Continue reading >>

Natural Cures And Home Remedies For Acidosis

Natural Cures And Home Remedies For Acidosis

Acidosis is a biochemical condition, caused by acid-alkaline imbalance in the body's pH levels, where the acidity of the body fluid is very high. The kidneys and lungs maintain the balance of chemicals (acids and bases) in the body. All foods are digested in the body leaving ash as the result of the digestion. This food ash can be neutral, acid or alkaline, depending largely on the mineral composition of the foods. Some foods leave an acid residue, some alkaline. The acid ash results when there is a depletion of the alkali reserve in the blood and the tissues of the body. When the alkalinity of the blood is reduced, the ability to transport carbon dioxide is reduced. As a result, acid accumalates in the tissues. Acidosis can be classified into respiratory acidosis and metabolic acidosis. When the body is unable to remove carbon dioxide through breathing, it results in respiratory acidosis. Metabolic acidosis occurs when the kidney is not able to remove enough acid from the body. Metabolic acidosis has several types. Diabetic acidosis (Diabetic ketoacidosis) develops when ketone bodies which are acidic build up in the body. Hyperchloremic acidosis is caused when too much sodium bicarbonate is lost from the body. Lactic acidosis occurs when there is a build up of lactic acid. Symptoms of Acidosis The general symptoms of acidosis are constant hunger, pain in the pharynx, nausea and vomitting, headaches, various nervous disorders and drowsiness. Chronic acidosis can lead to inflammation of the kidneys, rheumatism, artericlerosis, high BP, skin disorders and other degenerative diseases. It lowers immunity and vitality and makes us prone to the danger of other infections. Causes of Acodosis The main cause of acidosis is wrong diet choices. It mainly occurs because of too many Continue reading >>

Nature Cure For Acidosis

Nature Cure For Acidosis

Acidosis is a condition in which the acidity of body fluid is abnormally high. The raisins with their excess of alkalinity are helpful in maintaining the acid balance of the body. Studies conducted by Say well at the University of California have shown that the free use of raisins, Say about 1.05 gm. Daily, will significantly reduce the acidity of the urine. The urinary ammonia is also reduced. The organic acid of the raisins is completely oxidized. The free use of grapes is valuable in combating chronic acidosis which results from the excessive consumption of meat and cereals. Spinach is also a rich source of calcium and other alkaline elements which are essential for keeping the tissues clean and for preserving the alkalinity of the blood. It, therefore, helps prevent chronic diseases which thrive on the formation of too much acid in the system Tomato is essentially an alkaline vegetable. It acid taste is due to malic % .acid which is about 0%.It also contains 0.52% to 1.81% citric acid and only a trace of oxalic acid. These acids in tomatoes, in combination with sodium and potassium either form sodium or potassium acid malate, citrate or oxalate. Their end products, when oxidized in the body , are carbon dioxide , water and the carbonates of potassium and sodium. The later has alkaline reaction. Tomatoes, thus leave an alkaline ash in the process of being oxdised by the body. This increases the alkalinity of the bloodand decreases the urine and neutralizes the acid compounds of the body such as phosphates, treatment of acidosis and other disease associated with too much acid in the system. 5 Tips To Alkalise and Control Acidosis Have you ever heard of Acidosis or do you have any idea what havoc it can cause in your body? Healthy Diet Plans >> Health Issues and Diet >> Acidosis >> Acidosis Diet Acidosis is a condition wherein the individuals body fluids become excessively acidic. It occurs when the arterial pH levels drop below 7.35. Too much acidity can be dangerous as it tends to weaken the bodys system. An over acidic environment is conducive to disease, and it is important that a pH-balanced environment flourishes so that the body can function normally and resist disease. Symptoms associated with acidosis include problems such as dry hard stools, low blood pressure, migraine headaches, difficulty swallowing, recessed eyes, and water retention. Acidosis can be prevented and controlled to a great extent by following an acidosis diet treatment. As part of your acidosis diet, make sure you eat 50% raw vegetables and fruits. Avoid cranberries, prunes, and plums, as they remain in the body as acid and do not oxidize. Acidosis remedies such as drinking carrot juice and potato broth daily help reestablish the blood pH levels. In order for the treatment to be effective, one must consume a high protein diet for acidosis. Consuming an alkaline diet is extremely good for acidosis. In general, make sure that you consume both alkalizing and acidic foods. An ideal diet should consist of 20% acidic foods and 80% alkalizing foods. Your acidosis dietary intake should include more of high alkaline foods such as speckled banana, string beans, dates, prunes, dandelion greens, Swiss chard, raisins, carrots, almonds, avocado, beets, carrots, cranberries, kale, and pomegranates. Foods that are highly acidic are caffeine, coffee, corn, alcohol, honey, mate, millet, peanuts, oatmeal, pasta, raw beet and walnut. In Vitro Virucidal Effects Of Allium Sativum (garlic) Extract And Compounds.

In vitro virucidal effects of Allium sativum (garlic) extract and compounds. Department of Microbiology, Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah 84602. Garlic (Allium sativum) has been shown to have antiviral activity, but the compounds responsible have not been identified. Using direct pre-infection incubation assays, we determined the in vitro virucidal effects of fresh garlic extract, its polar fraction, and the following garlic associated compounds: diallyl thiosulfinate (allicin), allyl methyl thiosulfinate, methyl allyl thiosulfinate, ajoene, alliin, deoxyalliin, diallyl disulfide, and diallyl trisulfide. Activity was determined against selected viruses including, herpes simplex virus type 1, herpes simplex virus type 2, parainfluenza virus type 3, vaccinia virus, vesicular stomatitis virus, and human rhinovirus type 2. The order for virucidal activity generally was: ajoene > allicin > allyl methyl thiosulfinate > methyl allyl thiosulfinate. Ajoene was found in oil-macerates of garlic but not in fresh garlic extracts. No activity was found for the garlic polar fraction, alliin, deoxyalliin, diallyl disulfide, or diallyl trisulfide. Fresh garlic extract, in which thiosulfinates appeared to be the active components, was virucidal to each virus tested. The predominant thiosulfinate in fresh garlic extract was allicin. Lack of reduction in yields of infectious virus indicated undetectable levels of intracellular antiviral activity for either allicin or fresh garlic extract. Furthermore, concentrations that were virucidal were also toxic to HeLa and Vero cells. Virucidal assay results were not influenced by cytotoxicity since the compounds were diluted below toxic levels prior to assaying for infectious virus. These results indicate that virucidal activity and cytotoxic Continue reading >>

When the bodys pH level is too acidic for an extended period of time, acidosis can set in. When the body is too alkaline for an extended period of time, alkalosis can set in. Most people who have an unbalanced pH are acidic, and being too alkaline is very rare. Acidosis occurs when there is a build up of too much acid in the body. There are two types of acidosis: Respiratory acidosis which develops when there is too much carbon dioxide in the body, and metabolic acidosis which occurs when the body produces too much acid or when the kidneys are not able to remove enough acid from the body. Food is digested in our bodies and is broken down to an ash residue, which determines alkaline vs acidic foods. This ash residue can be neutral, acidic, or alkaline, and consists of the basic building blocks or nutrients of the food. For instance, alkaline foods may contain higher amounts of, potassium, calcium, magnesium, and iron, and will leave an alkaline ash, while acidic foods may contain higher amounts of sulphur, phosphorus, and chlorine leave acid ash. When it comes to alkaline vs acidic foods, these foods have both alkaline and acidic properties, but alkaline foods will have more alkaline properties than acidic properties. The body is made up of both alkaline an acidic properties and needs both to function properly. The body does work to maintain a balance though, which is represented by the slightly alkaline 7.4 pH of the blood. Eat More Alkaline Foods To Reduce Acid Levels In The Body The American diet consists largely of acidic foods such as meat, eggs, dairy, soda, sugar, and coffee. We can reduce the acid in the body by reducing the amount of acidic foods we eat, while increasing the amounts of alkaline foods we eat. This may seem too simple of a way to strengthen the i Continue reading >>

Treating acidosis is important to improve the symptoms that can be associated to it, including large areas of diseases and disorders, such as joint pain, chronic fatigue, sleep disorders, increased susceptibility to allergies, frequent infections and osteoporosis. The effectiveness of buffer food supplements in order to rebalance the phenomena of acidosis has been demonstrated in different clinical situations: from sport to treatment of gastrointestinal disorders, to degenerative disorders of the skeletal system till cancer. Melcalin BASE is a buffer food supplement that assists in maintaining the acid-base balance by providing the right amount of phosphate and bicarbonate ions, which are the main constituents of buffering stocks, in addition to key minerals such as magnesium and potassium, which are also key components for the maintenance of the physiological pH. It improves endurance and performance in physical activity and limits the hyperacidity-associated injuries of muscles and connective tissue. It balances deficits in the assumption of alkalizing nutrients that are associated with unbalanced eating habits, avoiding bone depletion phenomena due to weaknesses of buffer systems. It contributes to the reduction of symptoms associated with gastric disorders. Quality of food, lifestyles that promote the consumption of fast food and unbalanced meals, chronic intake of drugs are factors that contribute in making of nutritiona Continue reading >>
