Doesn't work on my Wi-Fi only Nexus 9 tablet under Nougat but does work on my Nexus 6P smartphone also under Nougat. First Medtronic device wouldn't work .I was sooooo confused then after a call to Medtronic they set present device a wirh instruction to download this app .worked first timd no problem. Everything is working still Thanks Medtronic The app will not open. It briefly flashes open and then immediately closes. My phone is an Android so we downloaded the app on my friends I-phone and the app opened immediately. Either Google Play Store has a problem or Medtronic does. I pray you get it corrected before it is necessary for me to use again. Went to use this app on my schedule day, the app open for a brief moment and closed itself, tried several times same result.. uninstalled and reinstalled same result. Worked great in the past.. Solution? Update: Called Medtronic customer service help with the issue.. Needed updated.. Works great now.. Thank you When the APP works it's great, but there can be a problem and as of today this is the only place you can see the fix if you can't reach Medtronic Customer Service. The APP was updated on or about 12/1/2017 and if you had not used it since then, for many it crashed. The APP was changed so that the "Developer Options" MUST BE TURNED OFF for it to work. This the case for Android phones, not sure about iPhones. Medtronic is aware of this issue and trying to find a way to notify users. This program was working just find, until update came in, now it crashes on a consistent basis. It is unable to even load it self. Therefore unable to read my pacemaker and send information to doctor. When do you plan on getting a fix for this situation I experienced the same crash others are experiencing and sent a message through Medtronics Continue reading >>

Medtronic Launches World's First App-based Remote Monitoring System For Pacemakers

Medtronic Launches World's First App-based Remote Monitoring System For Pacemakers

Medtronic Launches World's First App-Based Remote Monitoring System For Pacemakers All Medtronic pacemakers will be compatible with the app. The FDA has approved the launch of Medtronics MyCareLink Smart Monitor, a system that connects implantable pacemakers with the patients own smartphone or tablet using existing iPhone and Android technology. Research shows this app-based approach gives patients a more intuitive platform to communicate with their caregivers, improves their standard of care, and reduces healthcare costs. Traditionally, implantable devices have been monitored through follow-up appointments scheduled with the clinician, with no surveillance available between visits unless the patient detects a problem and calls their doctor. In a paper published in European Heart Journal (EHJ), authors wrote that remote home monitoring can cut down on unnecessary clinic visits and provide earlier detection of potential adverse events. In studies cited by EHJ, 78 percent of patients including elderly patients preferred remote monitoring to the traditional model of care. Less than five percent of patients were reluctant to try remote monitoring, expressing concerns about new and difficult technology and loss of privacy. According to George Crossley, associate professor of medicine at Vanderbilt Heart and Vascular Institution, Medtronics smart monitor addresses some of these concerns by integrating with technology that patients already own. It is easy for patients to transmit data from their pacemakers to their doctors via the technology that they are using every day, said Crossley in a press release . This innovation will serve as the foundation for future advances using smart technology to support cardiac patients. The MyCareLink Smart Monitoring System includes a handh Continue reading >>

Hello, please contact Medtronic Patient Services so we may assist you appropriately. Our Patient Services team is staffed Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm CST. This link provides several options to contact us at your convenience: Love the convenience, HATE the loud alarms that sound from your phone that cannot be quieted Love the convenience of this app, but what on earth is with the heinous alarm sounds during the reading and to signal the reading is completed? These alarms are not affected by changing the volume on the phone or turning the ringer on or off and are LOUD AND GRATING--highly annoying and embarrassing if you're trying to do this on the run (some of us youngsters with pacemakers are on the road a lot and must resort to doing our testing in semi public spaces). I understand the need to have the alarms if the handheld device is slipping, and I understand that some people may require these sounds to be louder than normal as they can't hear well, but HOLY COW. Crank it down a notch or three please? Just got my pacemaker a few days ago and I've now used the monitor and the app to send data to my doctor. It was quite easy and worked fine. I'm an engineer, so I wish I could see more data on my pacemaker, like how often it fires, battery life, status, etc. But, I understand that the app isn't really designed for that. It just sends data to my doctor. If you have a pacemaker, I wish you all the best. May God bless you. Long live the days of lengthy telephonic checks where you need to attach silver bracelets and position the phone over a monitor. This application is slick, simple, and makes the monitoring process incredibly easy and clear. Great app that does exactly what it needs to do and has literally changed my life. Keep up the awesome work! Requi Continue reading >>

Medtronic Launches Connected App For Pacemaker Patients, But Patients Can't See The Data

Medtronic Launches Connected App For Pacemaker Patients, But Patients Can't See The Data

Medtronic launches connected app for pacemaker patients, but patients can't see the data Medtronic has received FDA clearance for a mobile app that allows patients to remotely forward data from their pacemakers with their physicians. The app is paired with a device, the MyCareLink Smart Monitor. The Monitor reads data from the pacemaker and transmits it via Bluetoothto the patient's personal smartphone or tablet. The data, however, remains a black box to the patient who is unable to view it via the app. "The use of smart technology continues to grow among people of all ages, and especially among people over 65 which is the age range of the majority of our pacemaker patients," Darrell Johnson, vice president and general manager of the Connected Care business in the Cardiac and Vascular Group at Medtronic, said in a statement. "As a leader in remote cardiac monitoring, Medtronic is committed to providing cardiac patients with the latest technology to improve their health and make their lives easier, while helping to reduce the costs of healthcare. The MyCareLink Smart Monitor is just the first of many innovative solutions we are developing that leverage smart technology to increase patient engagement." As mentioned above, patients don't actually have access to their own pacemaker data through the app; they just gain the ability to manage how it's shared with providers. Medtronic asserts thatthis will improve treatment time for problems detected in the data, allow people with pacemakers to avoid some doctor visits, and potentially increase patient survival rates. Patients can also create an account online to manage their data transmission, see when they last sent pacemaker data, and sign up for email or text message reminders to transmit data regularly and confirmation wh Continue reading >>
