People with diabetes should follow the Australian Dietary Guidelines. Eating the recommended amount of food from the five food groups will provide you with the nutrients you need to be healthy and prevent chronic diseases such as obesity and heart disease.     Metformin helps you lose weight as long as you meet a certain set of conditions. For example, if you're type 1 and have good blood sugar control, Metformin can help you lose weight.
