    For me, very, very, slowly. I am currently at 2000mg a day. Since I jumped up that high, I have noticed (over 4 months) that I am losing weight without trying.
    To me, the more effective weight loss part of Metformin is the way it curbed my sugar and carb eating. Metformin notoriously makes you feel sick when you start taking it, but to me I noticed it made me feel sick when I ate too much sugar. Hence, I now eat less sugar.
    So in a roundabout way, it has helped me lose weight, I guess, but not in the way I thought it would. When I started I was under the impression it would be fairly quick, but my doctor warned me it would be six months to a year, and I think that was a fair warning.

    I d like to share a very positive experience with Metformin. I was diagnosed with PCOS after very irregular periods and anovulatory cycles. I already worked out regularly and was a healthy weight. My husband and I tried for a very long time to conceive and were starting to lose hope. I started taking Metformin 1500mg per day.     Hi, I was diagnosed with pcos in this year July, i am skinny and no diabetes so first i was afraid but then started Mertformin in the middle of August. We're trying for a baby since 9 months and no luck. So all in all, On the 13th of October i had a positive test!!!! Now I am 5 w5d pregnant! It does help!!!!!! In the beginning you will have terrible side effects, my stomach was so upset especially in the first month, but it's definitely worth it!!!!!!
