Sugar & Sweetener Free Birthday Cake

Sugar & Sweetener Free Birthday Cake

I wanted to make a sugar free cake for my daughters birthday. So I had a search online. Seems simple enough. Except, do you have any idea how hard it is to find agenuinely sugar free birthday cake recipe for young children? Seriously, Google it. Itll come up with hundreds of seemingly perfect options. And then you read the ingredients. Honey. Maple Syrup. Dates. Dried fruit. Fruit juice. I get that these are more appealing to give to children than caster sugar. They seem innocent enough. And for a celebration? Why not? Justdont call them sugar free!! These ingredients areall forms of sugar! I was getting really fed up of finding nothing. I was not entirely unhappywith the thought of giving my daughter a slightlysugary cake for her birthday. After all, its a celebration! But I dont see why a celebrationhas to include sugar . I dont understand why I will be judged asdepriving my child if I do not serve her sugar-laden treats and drinks on those days. So I wanted to do my best to try and find a totally sugar free cake before resorting to sugar. After all, my daughter is used to less-than-sweet treats, so why not give her something that she will truly enjoy without it being sugar-laden? As I was getting ready to give up, I came across a recipe for a totally sugar and sweetener free banana cake that looked good and had some great comments. It wasnt exactly what I was looking for, but was close, so I adapted it for my daughter and our family coming over, and it was a success all round! The World Health Organisation recommends that adults have less than 6 teaspoons of sugar a day (up to 9 for men), and that children have a maximum of 3 teaspoons a day. When you hear no bake in a recipe does it make you excited? I’m all about less heating up the kitchen in the warmer months so my mission has been to create luscious no bake recipes lately. This peanut butter pie has been something on my mind for a long time. Every since I made my no bake raspberry cheesecake mousse and before that my pumpkin cheesecake mousse, and a mint chocolate cheesecake mousse, I knew a peanut butter one was a must have for the summer. I made this specifically when I knew I was having guests for a party, because quite honestly having this incredible pie around for too long in my house would have been too much of a temptation. So I waited……. If you saw my recent recipe of Sparkling Basil Lemonade and an Ava Party then you know why everyone was coming over. If not you can check it over now and come back here for the review from my friends about this pie! The lovely friends who joined me for the Ava Anderson party were my guinea pigs and all tried a piece to offer their opinions. I love honest opinions, but I was pretty confident this pie was gonna rock their world. Many who attended are not accustomed to eating sugar-free desserts so I knew it had to be good to prove to them desserts without sugar can be just as delicious. I mean seriously, does it look any different or less delicious knowing it’s made sugar free? I think not! The chocolate syrup is a fantastic creation that can be made for any dessert or over ice cream or served to dip with fresh fruit. I made more than needed for the pie so it’s not included in the recipe nutrition info because I’m Continue reading >>

Sugar-free Neapolitan Cake (gluten, Grain And Dairy-free)

Sugar-free Neapolitan Cake (gluten, Grain And Dairy-free)

A healthy recipe for a gluten-free, grain-free, sugar-free cake with layers of chocolate, vanilla and strawberry frosting. Sleep is a big discussion over here now with a little one. Madison sleeps great at night, which is when we normally get our work done. Although last night we decided to switch things up. We stopped doing work at about 9:30pm. Michelle went to her place as I started some laundry and some other house work. Our intention was to get to bed early so we could get up at 5 am (instead of working to 1 am then sleeping). Wellboth of us did not get to go to sleep until 11pm. Yeah, so much for getting to bed early. But we did get up early to get our workout in, shower and dress for the day all before 7am! Thats when I started to hear noises that Madison was getting up. Madison usually gets up at 7:30am so this was a little early, but dad loved it as he got to see her on his way out before work. Good thing Michelle arrived at my house to help get things done with this post. We normally do our blog post the night before the post goes up. If we are really good we have it ready a few days ahead. Yeah but that doesnt seem to happen much anymore. So this morning we have been working on it. This is one great thing about working from home: you can change things up! Today we are sharing a recipe we created last week. After so much success with our sugar-free vanilla cake , sugar-free oreo cake and oreo kabocha squash cake we knew we needed more flavors. Over coffee one morning we thought of 4 other amazing flavors we could do with these sugar-free cakes! Yep more epic recipes coming just for you. Gluten-free, grain-free, dairy-free neapolitan cake made without sugar. We loved this cake so much. All the flavors blended so nicely together. It was nice to enjoy a huge sli Continue reading >>

Thanks so much for visiting Rose Bakes! I hope you're inspired to bake a cake, decorate something fun, or try a new recipe! Sign up for FREE updates in your inbox or in your feed reader to keep up with all the latest things I'm sharing! Happy Baking! This Sugar-Free Pineapple Lush Cake has been one of the most popular posts on my blog lately so it seemed like a great time to update it! Originally I created this cake for a lady in our church who had just come out of surgery. I was happy to do it, but also a bit nervous because she’s diabetic. After a bit of digging through some old cookbooks, I decided to make this Sugar-Free Pineapple Lush Cake. Only one other time have I baked a sugar-free cake and it wasn’t all that impressive, so this time I wanted to try something different. After I first published this recipe, I had several complaints about it not being actually “sugar-free” since pineapple has sugar. That is true. I supposed I should’ve noted that there’s no added or processed sugar – only the sugar naturally occurring in the pineapple, which is acceptable for most diabetics in moderation. If you need something that’s absolutely sugar-free, then this might not be the cake for you! Anyway, I was short on time and limited by my tiny local grocery store – I decided to go the easy route and not attempt anything from scratch, so this recipe was perfect. Here are the main things you’ll need… Sugar-Free Pineapple Lush Cake Don’t overlook the fact that you’ll also need eggs, oil, and water for the cake mix. After you have everything ready to go, it’s time to BAKE! First, just followed the box directions exactly. That’s pretty easy, huh? I have in my head a few variations I’d to try, but since I was short on time, I kept it simple. After it Continue reading >>
