Movie Review: Simply Raw: Reversing Diabetes In 30 Days
We recently watched the documentary, Simply Raw: Reversing Diabetes in 30 days. The movie takes six severe diabetics, who regularly take insulin alongside dozens of other diabetic medications, and places them on a completely natural, raw diet. They gradually find no need for the insulin or the pharmaceuticals, and become independent. While we do not usually recommend a completely raw diet, it is ideal for any diabetic who wishes to be cured. After his initial dieting, a diabetic could return to a less extreme diet, but hopefully never to a 'normal' diet again. For many viewers, this movie will be a very enlightening as all the 'incurable' chronic diabetics are cured using only food. Some of the people were so mentally conditioned by the medical establishment that they spent most of their dieting time attempting to rationalize how their health improvements could not really be happening, despite the obvious changes in their health, and their ever-dropping blood sugar numbers, which eventually became better than normal. The plan shown in the movie even worked for type 1 diabetes, which is often believed to be genetic. So much for the evil genes theory. The movie sadly demonstrated how effective the establishment's propaganda is, and one person actually bailed-out of the program because he could not accept having his life-long belief system proven wrong. We highly recommend this movie, especially to those who are suffering with pre-diabetes, type 1 or type 2 diabetes. You can read more about the movie at the Raw For 30 Days website. It is also available on the bittorrent system, for those of us who are struggling too much to buy an official copy. Also, if you are patient enough, you may immediately watch the entire movie in 10 minute segments on YouTube. Continue reading >>
Simply Raw: Reversing Diabetes In 30 Days, With Dr. Gabriel Cousens In Person! / Presented By Plant Based Nation
Dr. Cousens premieres the Revised Edition of There is a Cure for Diabetes. Join Dr. Cousens on Thursday, July 11th for a viewing of the film Simply Raw, followed by questions and answers about the Revised Edition of his book There Is a Cure for Diabetes, which extrapolates on the research and results in over 120 participants in Dr. Cousens’ Diabetes Recovery Program – A Holistic Approach. Dr. Cousens will discuss not only the work being done at Tree of Life Center in the U.S., but worldwide, as he launches a global initiative for diagnosing, treating, and preventing this pandemic affecting 350 million people around the world. The film Simply Raw: Reversing Diabetes in 30 Days was released independently in 2009 and shockingly revealed the effects that a diet consisting entirely of vegan, organic, uncooked food had on six American diabetics in just 30 days. The six were challenged to give up meat, dairy, sugar, alcohol, nicotine, caffeine, soda, junk food, fast food, processed food, packaged food, and even cooked food for 30 days, and followed each participant’s remarkable journey, capturing the medical, physical, and emotional transformations brought on by this radical diet and lifestyle change. Over 120 program participants later, Dr. Cousens has released the revised edition of his breakthrough book There Is a Cure for Diabetes, including a new chapter outlining his results and theories as to why this program has been so successful in reversing both Type-2 and Type-1 diabetes in both insulin and non-insulin dependent diabetics. The work is deeply relevant for everyone in light of Dr. Cousens’ perspectives on diabetes as a state of accelerated aging. All can benefit from a low-glycemic, organic, live-food diet, and Dr. Cousens is an expert in guiding people into Continue reading >>
Simply Raw: Reversing Diabetes In 30 Days
Diabetes is a chronic disease that over 260 million deal with around the world. In the past ten years, type 2 diabetes has tripled in the United States alone. It’s a lifestyle disease that comes down to one thing; diabetes is caused by what you’re putting in your mouth. America has the most overweight people in the history of the human race, and 1 out of every three children born after the year 2000 will get diabetes. And what’s the reason? When you cook the food, you lose 50% of the protein, 70% to 80% of the vitamins and minerals, and close to 100% of the phytonutrients. The documentary Simply Raw follows six everyday Americans living with diabetes who set out to change their lifestyles by switching from their regular foods to an entirely vegan diet without the use of pharmaceutical medication. They set themselves a challenge for 30 days that will see them give up a list of foods including meat, dairy, sugar, soda, and all processed foods. The film captures not only the medical and physical transformations, but the emotional journey each challenged themselves to by switching to a raw diabetic diet, and how nature is truly the first medicine we should all be consuming. Simply Raw: Reversing Diabetes in 30 Days documents each of the six individuals before they begin the program in their home environment. Each one speaks candidly about their everyday challenges of living with diabetes and how it has affected their daily lives, from work to home to their relationships. Continue reading >>
Raw Food Does Not Cure Diabetes
The month of November, Diabetes Awareness Month, brings out tons of information on diabetes management. Pharmacies open their doors to testing people for diabetes and communities around the world show solidarity for the cause. This is all for the good, right? As with any good and worthy cause, there are a few individuals who also take advantage and promote inaccurate information about diabetes. What wrinkles my nose is the concept that nature has a cure for diabetes. Why is this a myth? Let me explain. First, which diabetes are they talking about that has a natural cure? Type 1 diabetes does not have a cure, nor a natural cure! Type 1 is an autoimmune disease, which attacks the insulin forming cells, called beta cells, leaving as little as 10% of the total amount needed to keep the body alive. The only way to treat type 1 is injected insulin; you can’t eat better, take supplements, or drink medicinal teas to “reverse” it. The digestive system of someone with type 1 can take a pounding from the nature of the disease, so eating well, taking antioxidants and adding acupuncture can help tremendously, in beefing up the weakened immune system and aid in better digestion. Additionally, cutting down carbohydrates helps to manage blood sugar levels and because of the way type 1 diabetes affects the metabolism, lower carb intake also helps the stomach and small intestine digest food and absorb nutrients better. For type 2 diabetes natural is better, because learning to eat well and living a healthier life will decrease the risk for complications. But type 2 diabetes has a definition problem. For years, type 2 was categorized as a form of metabolic syndrome, primarily insulin resistance. But in recent years, type 2 is being studied to determine if it really belongs in the au Continue reading >>

I Reversed My Diabetes In Just 11 Days - By Going On A Starvation Diet
A family bereavement, high blood pressure, an unavoidable job change. I thought everything came in threes — but I was wrong. There was more bad news around the corner. I was a fit 59-year-old and had just had an annual health check at my GP surgery. This revealed I had high blood sugar — 9millimoles per litre, whereas a normal level is 4-6mmol/l — and my doctor suggested I could have diabetes. Further tests confirmed that, yes, I was type 2 diabetic. I was stunned. I have always been a healthy weight (I am 5ft 7in and just 10st 7lb), had no family history of diabetes, ate a healthy diet, never smoked, and I definitely did not have a sweet tooth. Determined to find a solution, I began researching the condition and how to beat it. In type 2 diabetes, the pancreas does not produce enough insulin to keep glucose levels normal (in type 1, the pancreas stops producing insulin altogether), and if I didn’t take action, I would be 36 per cent more likely to die early and could suffer bad sight, poor kidneys, heart failure and strokes. I’d also eventually be on medication. My GP said that my diabetes was mild enough to be controlled through diet alone, and gave me a wad of leaflets on nutrition for diabetics. I took up salads, cut down on carbohydrates and ate my five-a-day — but progress was slow. Over seven months I shed a stone but my blood sugar was still too high — around 7mmol/l. Not satisfied with this, further internet research threw up a more drastic approach. Scientists at Newcastle University had devised a radical low-calorie diet that studies suggested could reverse diabetes in under eight weeks. This involved eating just 800 calories a day (a man’s recommended intake is 2,500) — 600 calories from meal replacement shakes and soups and 200 calories fr Continue reading >>
How Do I Reverse Diabetes Naturally?
Not type 1 diabetes, where most of the insulin producing beta cells have been destroyed by the underlying autoimmune process. This has been well documented: undergoing pancreatic islet transplantation (needing the islets from three deceased donors) followed by lifelong immune suppression, but this isn’t “natural”. In relatively recent obese type 2 diabetics, losing 15% of their weight (a mean of 15 kg) by for 12 weeks following a strict 600 kCal diet, in some can reverse the diabetes, as long as you keep that excess weight off, see Diabetes Care “Very Low-Calorie Diet and 6 Months of Weight Stability in Type 2 Diabetes: Pathophysiological Changes in Responders and Nonresponders” In the whole group, weight fell from 98.0 ± 2.6 kg at baseline to 83.8 ± 2.4 kg during the VLCD (P< 0.001) and remained at 84.7 ± 2.5 kg after 6 months. After return to isocaloric eating, 40% of participants (12 of 30) achieved a fasting glucose <7.0 mmol/L (responders). After 6 months of weight loss maintenance, 43% (13 of 30) had a fasting plasma glucose <7 mmol/L while off all oral hypoglycemic agents or insulin. Then there is the mice experiment by Professor Valter Longo, who made his mice water fast 4 days followed by 10 days of normal eating, repeating this cycle again and again: Fasting Mimicking Diet, where he showed that FMD reactivated the embryonal Ngn3 gene that among others caused beta cells to regenerate see Fasting-Mimicking Diet Promotes Ngn3-Driven β-Cell Regeneration to Reverse Diabetes but mice are not men! If You Are Diabetic Can You Control It By Diet Only Without Medication?
To control your diabetes naturally, I advise you to start consuming more fiber. Fiber has the power to control and lower blood glucose levels, so it would be good if you could include fiber in every meal. You will find fiber in cereals, vegetables and fruits. But be careful with the fruits, and now I'll talk about that later. Among foods with a lot of fiber, is oats. Oatmeal, in addition to its fiber content, contributes complex carbohydrates. The latter means that the body will slowly absorb them when you consume them and thus your sugar levels will not increase sharply. Oatmeal is a food that you can consume at any time of the day, so do not worry about it. What I recommend is that it is natural oats, that is, do not buy that brand oat that comes in box and is usually sold in supermarkets, such as the famous Quaker Oats, since it is only junk food with sugar sugar). As for the fruits that you should consume to lower your diabetes naturally, you are only allowed to eat 2: apple and bitter melon. The other fruits are going to shoot your blood sugar, and that is because the fruits contain simple carbohydrates, that is, they are absorbed quickly by the body when consuming them. Vegetables, on the other hand, have complex carbohydrates, so you will be able to consume all those with a low glycemic index, since the high indexes are going to increase blood glucose levels sharply. Examples of vegetables with high glycemic index are carrots and beets. The green tea is an herb that will help lower blood sugar naturally. Green tea contains a substance called EGCG, which allows the pancreas to produce and secrete insulin, to properly control blood glucose levels. I recommend that you drink green tea every day, but I do not advise those sold in cash at supermarkets, but you should Continue reading >>

The raw food diet is based on the belief that the most healthful food for the body is uncooked. Typically, about 75 to 80 percent of what you eat each day will be plant-based foods never heated above 115 degrees Fahrenheit. (Very few people follow a 100 percent raw diet.) Most followers are vegan, but some choose to consume raw animal products, like raw (unpasteurized) milk, cheese made from raw milk, sashimi, raw fish, and certain kinds of raw meat. I’d like to share my week with raw food diet here with you. (Picture Source: here) Diabetes is one of the most rampant diseases of our time. According to the American Diabetes Association, in 2012, 29.1 million Americans, or 9.3% of the population, had diabetes. In fact, diabetes is growing at a fairly fast rate. A study completed by the CDC & Research Triangle Institute concluded that If recent trends in diabetes prevalence rates continue linearly over the next 50 years, future changes in the size and demographic characteristics of the U.S. population will lead to dramatic increases in the number of Americ Continue reading >>

Diabetes Can Be Reversed In 30 Days With One Simple Change
Simply Raw: Reversing Diabetes in 30 days is an American independent documentary film that features six people with diabetes who changed their diets in order to manage their diabetes better. As the title suggests, all the participants adopted a raw vegan diet, and stuck to it for a period of 30 days. The results were breathtaking and confirmed what Dr. Gabriel Cousens, a physician and raw food advocate, suggested earlier: diabetes can be cured in some cases. The documentary was founded by the Movement to Reverse Diabetes Naturally (RDN). Type 1 and 2 Diabetes There are 246 million people in the world with diabetes, and one person dies from this disease every ten seconds. We are seeing a world epidemic, and according to the Western medicine, there is no cure for it. Diabetes is a metabolic disease. It affects the cells’ sugar supply through impaired insulin production. In type 1 diabetes, the body’s immune system destroys insulin-producing cells. Type 2 is the more common type of the disease, where insulin does get produced, but there is not enough of it or the body cannot use it well enough. When there isn’t enough insulin in the blood, sugar (glucose) starts building up in the blood and doesn’t reach the cells, so they can’t function normally. A New Approach Dr. Cousens developed a new approach for treating diabetes at his Tree of Life Rejuvenation Center, a retreat center based in Arizona. The method combines a radical change of diet and a strict exercise regime. It’s a 3 week detox program under supervision. Dr. Cousens who claims that his approach helps 53% of people with type 2 diabetes get off all medication, and cures them. In type 1 diabetes, the success rate is 30%. He explains that essentially diabetes is accelerated aging, and that eating raw food Continue reading >>

Raw For 30 Days: Can Diabetes Be Cured?
Raw for 30 Days is an independent documentary film that chronicles six Americans with diabetes who switch to a diet consisting entirely of vegan, organic, live, raw foods in order to reverse diabetes naturally. It’s almost an inverse “Supersize Me” if you will. A medical team was established to monitor various health variables of the subjects. The diet: “No meat, no dairy, no alcohol, no caffeine, no refined foods, no junk food or fast food of any kind, no candies, no sugar”. The 8 minute trailer is fascinating. The Results… Staggering After reversing all her symptoms and coming off all medication, one woman asks “I don’t see why my doctors don’t know about this… I’m gonna make them aware…” One thing I couldn’t quite understand was: Did the subjects include those with Type 1 Diabetes? In one part the narrator mentions people coming “off insulin”. Trailer What is a Raw Food Diet? Raw food diets or “raw foodism” is pretty self-explanatory. Raw foodies do not eat anything that has been cooked or processed; including pasteurized and homogenized dairy products. Raw foodies believe cooking and processing food robs it of its nutritional value. There are three variants of raw food diets: vegan, vegetarian, and raw animal food diets. Vegan raw food diets focus solely on fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts, seeds, and legumes. No animal products are consumed. Vegetarian raw food diets consist primarily of plant foods, but also include foods like dairy, honey, and eggs. Raw meat diets focus on consuming animal products that can safely be eaten raw, such as organ and muscle meat, raw dairy, and sashimi (raw fish), but also include fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds, but not grains. Raw food diets have become very popular in countries like Germany, Continue reading >>
