Seven Herbs And Supplements For Type 2 Diabetes
Diabetes is a widespread disorder affecting the blood sugar and insulin levels in the body. Managing the long-term consequences and complications of diabetes are as much of a challenge as the disease itself. There are two main types of diabetes. Type 1 diabetes is where the pancreas produces no insulin. Type 2 diabetes is more common. With type 2, the body either does not produce enough insulin or produces insulin that the body does not use properly. There are many treatment options for people with type 2 diabetes. Growing research suggests that some herbs and supplements may help with the condition. Useful herbs may be great to combine with more traditional methods to find relief from many type 2 diabetes symptoms. Seven herbs and supplements Here are seven herbs and supplements that may be of benefit to people with type 2 diabetes. Aloe vera Aloe vera is a common plant with many different uses. Most people are aware of the plant being used to coat the skin and protect it from damage caused by too much sun exposure. However, the plant has many lesser-known benefits as well. These range from helping digestive issues to possibly even relieving type 2 diabetes symptoms. One review analyzed many studies using aloe vera to treat symptoms of diabetes. Their results strongly suggested an antidiabetic potential for aloe. Subjects given aloe showed lower blood sugar levels and higher insulin levels. Further tests showed that aloe helps to increase how much insulin is produced by the pancreas. This could mean that aloe helps to restore bodies with type 2 diabetes or protect them from further damage. The researchers called for more studies to be done on aloe and its extracts to be certain of these effects. There are many ways to take aloe. Juiced pulp is sold in many markets and Continue reading >>

Kim Shepherd didnt tell her husband of 34 years where she was going when she hopped in the car three years ago and drove an hour and a half from their house in search of a solution to her health problems. Shed tried so many treatments before, she couldnt bear to get anyones hopes up again. Shepherd weighed 328 pounds, and was a type 2 diabetic. I say was because she is no longer one. Shepherd isnt the only one who has endured this suffering. More than half of Americans are prediabetic or diabetic, and those figures are only projected to growas are the costs. Currently, the disease runs the United States $350 billion a year, with an estimated one in every three Medicare dollars spent on care. Diabetes is one of the biggest global health crises of the 21st century, said Margaret Chan, the former director general of the World Health Organization, in late 2016. Its a slow-motion disaster. The disease is, by definition, an intolerance to carbohydrates: When the body fails to produce enough insulin to stabilize the blood-sugar spikes caused by carbohydrates, especially sugar, it needs an outside source. For most diabetics, the course of treatment focuses on management: As you get sicker, medical professionals prescribe more drugs. But this treatment begs the question: If diabetics are essentially allergic to carbs, wouldnt it make more sense for them to avoid them in the first place, in the same way children with nut allergies stay away from PB&J sandwiches? Thats the question I sought a Continue reading >>

Miracle Treatment? A Drug Inhaled Through The Nose Could 'cure' People With Diabetes
Experiments on mice and rats who had a version of the disease have found a single dose of the drug kept their blood levels normal for at least four months - equivalent to over 12 years in the life of a human. Scientists believe the hormone FGF1 - which is produced naturally in the body - caused sustained remission by targeting brain circuits that regulate blood glucose. They think the same thing will happen in humans. Diabetes is a condition which causes a person's blood sugar level to become too high. There are two main types of diabetes – type 1 and type 2. Type 2 diabetes - the form caused by obesity - occurs when the body doesn't produce enough insulin to function properly or cells don't react to the hormone causing glucose to stay in the blood. The experts have shown tests on rodents reveal FGF1 (fibroblast growth factor 1) can be delivered to the central nervous system via the nose. Earlier studies have shown an injection of FGF1 into the peripheral blood has strong anti-diabetic effects in mice. But a potent dose and repeated injections were required - and the method did not achieve durable remission. Researchers said the findings of the new study, published in the journal Nature Medicine, could potentially be translated into a treatment for diabetes. Professor Michael Schwartz and colleagues have found one dose injected into the brains of mice or rats with type 2 diabetes brought blood glucose levels back to normal for the next four months. This effect occurred despite a change in diet or body fat, which researchers said indicated the improvement did not depend on weight loss. The therapy worked in mice whose obesity was either genetically engineered or caused by diet - and in a genetic model of type 2 diabetes in rats. The researchers believe the brain can st Continue reading >>
30 Day Diabetic Miracle Diet
The 30-Day Diabetes Miracle Diet claims to teach you how to make the correct lifestyle, exercise and dietary choices to reverse your diabetes symptoms. The program is outlined in the book “The 30-Day Diabetes Miracle,” by Dr. Franklin House, et al. You follow the system by purchasing the book and its companion workbook “The 30-Day Diabetes Miracle Cookbook: Stop Diabetes With an Easy-to-Follow, Plant-Based, Carb-Counting Diet,” and adhering to both book's guidelines to “stop diabetes before it stops you,” according to the diet's website. Video of the Day Most information you've been told about diabetes is littered with misconceptions, ignorance and myths, according to the diet's website. For example, the authors claim that you might have been told that developing diabetes is a death sentence, that it is a genetic disease or that you will have complications, such as bodily amputations, blindness or kidney failure, as a result of your disease. The authors' also claim that your doctor might suggest that you can only manage your disease with large doses of medications or that your doctor is solely responsible for managing your diabetes. All of these statements are untrue, according to DiabetesMiracle.org, which claims that you can experience a “30-day diabetes miracle” by adhering to the Lifestyle Centers of America's program. This system teaches you how to take responsibility for your state of health. It also teaches you how to incorporate a scientifically sound diet, exercise regimen and positive attitude into your individualized diabetes treatment plan to eradicate type 2 diabetes and alleviate most type 1 diabetes symptoms, according to the diet website. Glucose tolerance, the body's ability to metabolize sugar, decreases as the day progresses. Therefore Continue reading >>
“the 30 Day Diabetes Miracle” Review
Some weeks ago I purchased the book “The 30-Day Diabetes Miracle” by Franklin House, M.D., Stuart A. Seale, M.D. and Ian Blake Newman and recently finished reading it. Since my last review seems to have helped many people, I wanted to review this one as well in hopes of helping improve even more people’s lives. Both books have basically the same title or message but approach the diabetes treatment from different perspectives (although in many aspects they agree). The basic difference between “The 30 Day Diabetes Cure” by Dr. Ripich and this book is that the first allows you to eat meat, milk, eggs etc. while this one reviewed here is based on a plant based diet (vegetarian). Both are backed up by research and present convincing arguments. And both of them are getting excellent results, such as getting diabetics off drugs (or reducing them) and improving outstandingly their overall health. So, I encourage you to continue reading this review. However, if you already know that you could never be a vegetarian, I suggest you to read my review of Dr. Ripich’s book. About The 30-Day Diabetes Miracle This book is a summary of the Lifestyle Center of America’s program to stop diabetes, restore your health and build natural vitality before diabetes will stop you. A word about the Lifestyle Center of America (LCA): it’s a non-profit health resort in southern Oklahoma with an 18-day program that trains diabetics to develop new and healthier habits that will help them gain more quality of life. Instead of trying to fix the symptoms of various conditions, they help individuals to get to the root of their problems – their lifestyle – using the power of diet, physical activity, stress management as well as intensive, personal medical supervision. The book starts by Continue reading >>
Type 2 Diabetes And The Diet That Cured Me
Why me? At 59 I was 10st 7lb, 5ft 7in, and had never been overweight. I ran and played cricket regularly and didn't drink alcohol excessively. Yet at a routine check-up I was told that I had type 2 diabetes. In 10 years I could be dependent on insulin, it could affect my sight, feet, ears, heart and I had a 36% greater chance of dying early. In type 1 diabetes, the body produces none of the insulin that regulates our blood sugar levels. Very high glucose levels can damage the body's organs. Patients with type 2 diabetes, however, do produce insulin - just not enough to keep their glucose levels normal. Because I was fit and not overweight (obesity is a major risk factor in type 2 diabetes; however, a number of non-obese people, particularly members of south Asian communities, are also prone to it), my doctor told me I could control my condition with diet alone. Desperate for information, I headed to the web, where I found a report about a research trial at Newcastle University led by Professor Roy Taylor. His research suggested type 2 diabetes could be reversed by following a daily 800-calorie diet for eight weeks. When our bodies are deprived of normal amounts of food they consume their own fat reserves, with the fat inside organs used up first. The idea of Taylor's diet is to use up the fat that is clogging up the pancreas and preventing it from creating insulin, until normal glucose levels return. With my GP's blessing and a home glucose-testing kit, I began my experiment. The diet was strict: three litres of water a day, three 200-calorie food supplements (soups and shakes) and 200 calories of green vegetables. Thanks to my doctor's dietary guidance, and running three times a week, I had already lost a stone. Yet my glucose levels were still above 6mmol/L (millimols Continue reading >>
I Reversed My Diabetes In Just 11 Days - By Going On A Starvation Diet
I reversed my diabetes in just 11 days - by going on a starvation diet Strict regime: Richard Doughty followed a drastic diet A family bereavement, high blood pressure, an unavoidable job change. I thought everything came in threes but I was wrong. There was more bad news around the corner. I was a fit 59-year-old and had just had an annual health check at my GP surgery. This revealed I had high blood sugar 9millimoles per litre, whereas a normal level is 4-6mmol/l and my doctor suggested I could have diabetes. Further tests confirmed that, yes, I was type 2 diabetic. I was stunned. I have always been a healthy weight (I am 5ft 7in and just 10st 7lb), had no family history of diabetes, ate a healthy diet, never smoked, and I definitely did not have a sweet tooth. Determined to find a solution, I began researching the condition and how to beat it. In type 2 diabetes, the pancreas does not produce enough insulin to keep glucose levels normal (in type 1, the pancreas stops producing insulin altogether), and if I didnt take action, I would be 36 per cent more likely to die early and could suffer bad sight, poor kidneys, heart failure and strokes. Id also eventually be on medication. My GP said that my diabetes was mild enough to be controlled through diet alone, and gave me a wad of leaflets on nutrition for diabetics. I took up salads, cut down on carbohydrates and ate my five-a-day but progress was slow. Over seven months I shed a stone but my blood sugar was still too high around 7mmol/l. Not satisfied with this, further internet research threw up a more drastic approach. Scientists at Newcastle University had devised a radical low-calorie diet that studies suggested could reverse diabetes in under eight weeks. This involved eating just 800 calories a day (a mans recomm Continue reading >>
The Ph Miracle For Diabetes Exposed | Diabetic Connect
A revolutionary diet plan as a miracle response to your type 1 or type 2 diabetes problems sounds too good to be true, and thats usually because it is. Robert O. Young and Shelley Rudford Youngs book The pH Miracle for Diabetes: The Revolutionary Diet Plan for Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetics claims that its eating plan is so effective that you will be able to sit back and watch your blood sugar levels stabilize, to the point that youll be able to cut back on or even eliminate any medicationincluding insulin. Its a bold claim, and one that deserves some more digging into. If you started seeing a new doctor, you would want to be sure he or she has all the proper credentials, degrees, and medical licenses. So, if you plan on dramatically altering your lifestyle and potentially stopping your treatments based on a book, you would also want to verify the authors credentials. The main author of The pH Miracle for Diabetes is Robert O. Young. While Young claims a PhD in his byline and author bios, he is not a medical doctor. Instead, he holds doctorate degrees in naturopathy and nutrition from the Clayton College of Natural Health, an unaccredited, now defunct Internet correspondence school in Alabama. In addition to having a questionable education, in 2016, Young was convicted on two counts of practicing medicine without a license. Multiple other charges have been brought against him throughout the years, but most of them were dropped. Young has made a career of both operating a treatment ranch he created and selling books, including four different pH Miracle diet plan books. While Shelly Redford Young, the co-author, claims her credentials as a licensed massage therapist and an interest in nutrition, it would appear that most of her contribution to the book is in the recipes loc Continue reading >>

Has A British Man Really Been Cured Of Type 1 Diabetes?
I have been living with type 1 diabetes for 25 years now. The relentlessness of type 1, and the fact that I will probably live with this non-preventable condition for the rest of my life never goes away, but I have almost made peace with it. A few days ago, I saw something that gave me pause. “British man with type 1 diabetes to receive tests after coming off insulin,” read Diabetes.co.uk’s headline. The article goes onto say that, “Daniel Darkes, from Daventy in Northamptonshire, was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes seven years ago. But his recent tests have baffled doctors as his pancreas has shown signs of working properly again.” My first thoughts upon reading this were, “this can’t be true,” and “what’s the real explanation here?” There are many types of diabetes including type 2, LADA, and monogenic. Maybe he actually had one of those types instead of type 1. Usually, tests can determine this quickly though, so why was it not the case with Dan? I live in the UK and I wanted to get to the bottom of things. I managed to get in touch with ‘Miracle Dan’, as he’s been called by his friends. Although he is saving the specific details of his recent test results from the U.S. for an upcoming exclusive interview with another media outlet, he spoke to me and answered some of my questions about everything that has been happening. Please tell us a bit about yourself and your diabetes. When were you diagnosed? I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes back in February 2011 at the age of 23, after just leaving the army. I started a new engineering job and within two weeks of starting, I noticed the traditional symptoms of type 1 diabetes: thirst, weight loss, blurry vision, and a lot of vomiting. I collapsed and was taken by ambulance to hospital where I wa Continue reading >>
How To Reverse Type 2 Diabetes: 3 Inexpensive Foods You Need To Know About
Is there a way to reverse diabetes? Specifically, type 2 diabetes? You might be surprised to discover there are three unbelievable natural remedies that I don’t believe the medical establishment—or, more specifically, the pharmaceutical companies—want you to know about. Why would they not want you to know about this stuff? It’s because the pharmaceutical industry is a gigantic machine which has to sustain itself. The diabetic industry alone is massive, owing to the fact that over 300 million people in the world have type 2 diabetes. The treatments and medication used to treat diabetes are big business, so why would these companies be at all interested in truly reversing diabetes? How would that benefit them financially? Unfortunately, a lot of diabetes drugs don’t actually work, or work with limited success and a lot of potential side effects. Science has shown that—in terms of diabetic management—these drugs are more dangerous than anything. Drugs used in the 1950s, for the most part, have all been taken off the market because they were shown to increase the risk of heart disease. This has even happened recently with drugs like Avandia. It was the world’s most popular Type 2 diabetes drug until it was revealed to have side effects that caused serious heart problems. New drugs haven’t proven to be much better. With that in mind, I’m going to share with you 3 amazing, all-natural solutions to reverse diabetes. Even if you don’t have type 2 diabetes, these solutions can help you prevent it. Here’s something I want you to realize; please never forget this: If you have type two diabetes, it’s not a life sentence. It’s actually one of the easiest—and I don’t say that in a condescending way; I say it in an optimistic way—diseases to completel Continue reading >>
The 15 Best Superfoods For Diabetics
beats1/Shutterstock Chocolate is rich in flavonoids, and research shows that these nutrients reduce insulin resistance, improve insulin sensitivity, drop insulin levels and fasting blood glucose, and blunt cravings. But not all chocolate is created equal. In a 2008 study from the University of Copenhagen, people who ate dark chocolate reported that they felt less like eating sweet, salty, or fatty foods compared to volunteers given milk chocolate, with its lower levels of beneficial flavonoids (and, often, more sugar and fat, too). Dark chocolate also cut the amount of pizza that volunteers consumed later in the same day, by 15 percent. The flavonoids in chocolate have also been shown to lower stroke risk, calm blood pressure, and reduce your risk for a heart attack by 2 percent over five years. (Want more delicious, healthy, seasonal foods? Click here.) Jiri Vaclavek/Shutterstock Broccoli is an anti-diabetes superhero. As with other cruciferous veggies, like kale and cauliflower, it contains a compound called sulforaphane, which triggers several anti-inflammatory processes that improve blood sugar control and protect blood vessels from the cardiovascular damage that’s often a consequence of diabetes. (Heart disease is the leading cause of death for people with diabetes, so this protection could be a lifesaver.) Sulforaphane also helps flip on the body’s natural detox mechanisms, coaxing enzymes to turn dangerous cancer-causing chemicals into more innocent forms that the body can easily release. Blueberries funnyangel/Shutterstock Blueberries really stand out: They contain both insoluble fiber (which “flushes” fat out of your system) and soluble fiber (which slows down the emptying of your stomach, and improves blood sugar control). In a study by the USDA, peopl Continue reading >>
Is Type 2 Diabetes Reversible?
Type 2 diabetes is a serious, long-term medical condition. It develops mostly in adults but is becoming more common in children as obesity rates rise across all age groups. Several factors contribute to type 2 diabetes. Being overweight or obese is the biggest risk factor. Type 2 diabetes can be life-threatening. But if treated carefully, it can be managed or even reversed. Your pancreas makes a hormone called insulin. When your blood sugar (glucose) levels rise, the pancreas releases insulin. This causes sugar to move from your blood to your cells, where it can be used as an energy source. As glucose levels in your blood go back down, your pancreas stops releasing insulin. Type 2 diabetes impacts how you metabolize sugar. Either your pancreas doesn’t produce enough insulin or your body has become resistant to its effects. This causes glucose to build up in the blood. This is called hyperglycemia. There are several symptoms of untreated type 2 diabetes, including: excessive thirst and urination fatigue increased hunger weight loss, in spite of eating more infections that heal slowly blurry vision dark patches on the skin Treatment for type 2 diabetes includes monitoring your blood sugar levels and using medications or insulin when needed. Doctors also recommend losing weight through diet and exercise. Some diabetes medications have weight loss as a side effect, which can also help reverse diabetes. If you start eating healthier, get more exercise, and lose weight, you can reduce your symptoms. Research shows that these lifestyle changes, especially physical activity, can even reverse the course of the condition. Studies that show the reversal of type 2 diabetes include participants who have lived with the condition for only a few years. Weight loss is the primary fact Continue reading >>
