The 50 Highest Rated Ceos

The 50 Highest Rated Ceos

By Thomas C. Frohlich and Steven Peters June 9, 2016 2:32 pm EDT Top executives, CEOs especially, are often measured by the business decisions they make and how their company is performing. Often just as important, however, is the companys culture, which executives also help shape. A positive culture can help boost employee morale and with it productivity and sales. It can also attract quality employees and keep turnover low further boosting the companys performance. With employee review websites such as Glassdoor, the popularity of a given CEO is readily available. 24/7 Wall St. reviewed the top 50 employee rated chief executives at U.S.-based companies from Glassdoors recent report, Employee Choice Awards: Highest Rated CEOs. Bob Bechek, the chief executive officer of consultancy firm Bain & Company ranks first. Three other consulting firm CEOs made the list, including Dominic Barton of McKinsey & Co. in third place; KPMG CEO John Veihmeyer in 13th; and Mark Weinberger of EY in 14th place. Click here to see the 50 highest rated CEOs. Leaders of tech companies occupied another six positions. Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook (NASDAQ: FB) was ranked fourth; Jeff Weiner of LinkedIn (NYSE: LNKD) ranked fifth; Marc Benioff of SalesForce.com (NYSE: CRM) ranked sixth; and, Sundar Picha of Google (NASDAQ: GOOGL) ranked seventh. Consulting and technology companies tend to offer some of the nations highest salaries, and this may partially explain the tendency of employees to give favorable ratings. Long-term employee satisfaction not just with a CEO but with the company as a whole is more closely related to trust in senior leadership than it is with salary, however. To identify the highest rated CEOs, 24/7 Wall St. reviewed Glassdoors recent report, Employee Choice Awards: Highest R Continue reading >>

There are 19 current CEOs, including Omar Ishrak of medical device company Medtronic ( MDT ), Dion Weisler of HP ( HPQ ) and Mark Zuckerberg of social networking giant Facebook ( FB ),who were awarded "other compensation" or perks as they're commonly called valued at $1 million or more in the most recent fiscal year, according to a USA TODAY analysis of data from S&P Global Market Intelligence. Above table reports Labor Condition Application(LCA) for H1B visa and Labor Certification(LC) for green card filed by Medtronic, Inc.. The data only indicates the number of applications filed by Medtronic, Inc.. It does not mean that Medtronic, Inc. actually got the visa and hired the workers. Our LCA data includes LCA submitted for not only new employment, but also continuation or change in previously approved employment, new concurrent employment, change in employer and amended petition. Usually, only LCA for new employment needs H1B Visa quota if it is not cap-exempt. Medtronic, Inc. has applied for 914 LC and LCA from fiscal year 2015 to 2017. But this does not mean they really hired 914 foreign workers during this period. The visa applications might have been denied. When an employee renews or transfers his H1B visa or change work location under some circumstances, he will also file a new LCA application. Department of Labor(DOL) typically certifies more than 3 times the number of foreign work requests than the number of H1B visas issued by USCIS. So there is no one to one relationship between the number of workers certified by the DOL and the number of H1B work visas issued Continue reading >>

Medtronic Reviews | Glassdoor.com.au

Fortunate to have spent over a decade with Medtronic, I can honestly say that their mission, direction, and motivation are genuine. I acknowledge as with any company, that financial motives are a key factor in decision making, but I can honestly say that I have witnessed a substantial number of occasions where the patient, customer, and employee come before the financial impact of the situation. This in combination with the direction that our current CEO (Omar Ishrak) is steering us gives me genuine belief in the overarching goal of our company and allows me to sleep soundly at night. On the other hand, between the CEO (and his team) and the employees that are working day-in-and-day-out with the patients exists a completely misaligned and borderline antagonistic component of corporate culture at it worst. I have witnessed far too many examples of corporate 'jockeying' and allowing personal career agendas to supersede good corporate stewardship in the local, Australian market. Now, I understand that it is admirable and more than acceptable to want to advance your career with any organization, but it should never be at the cost of the 'external focus' of the company; which happens to be one of the key-traits for the company. To that note, and as my final recommendation/review, I recommend approaching Medtronic ANZ with caution as the mission will carry us all, but the local politics will make the ride rather uncomfortable. To management (& H.R.), I understand how it can be difficult to keep abreast of everything that is happening when considering the finite amount of time we are given to complete the growing list of tasks. However, it can be deceiving (though efficient) to rely so heavily on the vertical structure that delivers what's happening in our company. Instead, t Continue reading >>

Ceo Pay Watch: Medtronic's Omar Ishrak Made $16.3 Million In Fiscal 2017

CEO Pay Watch: Medtronic's Omar Ishrak made $16.3 million in fiscal 2017 Total compensation: $16,348,456 for the year ended April 28 Value realized on vesting shares: $5,143,969 Total fiscal 2017 shareholder return: 7.2 percent Note: Ishrak's total compensation for fiscal 2017 was down 68 percent from the previous year, despite a 3 percent increase in his base salary and a 1.1 percent increase in his annual incentive bonus. Much of the prior-year compensation and this year's as well came from the exercise of stock options and restricted stock that vested. This fiscal year Ishrak realized $8.4 million combined from those awards compared with $43.3 million the previous year. During fiscal 2017, Medtronic had solid financial results, but overall performance was just below financial goals set for the year. For the company's long-term performance plan, it failed to meet the threshold requirement for a return on investment capital target but had maximum performance on a long-term revenue growth target.
