Je travaille chez Medtronic plein temps(Plus d'un an) Great benefits. A lot of overtime if you need the extra money. Food is provided normally during overtime as well. Cafeteria inside the building so you do not HAVE to leave for food. Nice location. Decent pay. Schedule flexibility is decent. The job its self is GREAT, but the staff makes it like high school. FAVORITISM!! FAVORITISM!! That's really all this company is about. If you are not best friends with staff and supervisors - you will go no where within this company. It is really sad because there are some TOP performers who will never get a chance because they are not social butterflies. The company likes to manipulate employees and/for their time. For example, they will groom and prepare reps for a leadership or team lead position, give them all of the work and escalations, have them ACTING in that role for months before they can even interview for said position. The managers always pick their favorites or people they know - or when they decide on other people - there is little to no feedback on why or how to improve for you future interviews/chances. You have to be very direct with management to get anywhere or anything done. The supervisors are so-so. Some work hard - some hardly work. There have been a lot of firings lately which has helped some but there is so much more shady business going on that doesn't get addressed. The same reps who win employee of the month go to eat lunch with their supervisors outside of work - how is that not conflict on interest ?? Supervisors also date lower level reps here. VERY unprofessional. I was shocked to learn that a fortune 500 company does not have some type of no fraternization rule(s) - and if there is one, it is NOT abided by here. Achieving a Vision with an Integrated Team With a tight schedule and a desire to meet the clients expectations, the Opus teams construction project managers and architects met weekly with the team from Julie Snow Architects. Having all parties at the table allowed the ideas to not only flow but to be grounded in reality with the project management team providing quick cost estimates. According to Architecture Minnesota magazine, this close collaboration yielded one of the best examples in the county of how the budget-focused design-build process can yet incorporate bold and innovative design. The 1.2-million-square-foot office complex, spanning three eight-story towers, was built accommodate 4,800 employees. The complex also includes a 4,000-stall parking garage. One directive from the client was that no work area be more than 60 feet from a window, so the design incorporated the long, narrow towers, referred to as bars, with open space between each building. Supply Management Consultant(Former Employee) San Antonio, TX January 17, 2018 Training classes were approximately 4-5 weeks long and majority of the training was not very useful once you hit the floor. Managers and team members were of no help once you started on the floor and team members seemed annoyed if you asked for help. Team leads seemed to horse around too much and not take their job very seriously; some even abused their power. The facility itself was great but the employees were not very helpful or friendly with the new hires. Everyone seemed very "cliquish" and immature. I felt like we were lying to our patients everyday in regards to their Insulin Pump Therapy Devices. As Diabetics the patients depended on their Insulin Therapy. I had multiple patients in my pipeline that had been waiting since the beginning of the year for their devices. Physicians were even holding off sending the patients to Medtronic for new devices since we were so backordered. New Mounds View campus is Medtronic's largest facility The $95 million project consolidates about 3,000 Medtronic employees who had been scattered in six facilities throughout the Twin Cities into one campus consisting of three eight-story towers and a five-level parking deck on 84 acres. Medtronic pacemakers bounced thousands of times in body-temperature water to stress-test their contacts. The testing was being done in the new Mounds View headquarters of the companys cardiac rhythm disease management division. Kathy Moore, in the background, oversaw the testing. His name may not be on the building. And, technically speaking, his office isn't even located within its sunny, glassy confines. But Stephen Mahle's imprint on Medtronic's new $95 million headquarters complex in Mounds View for its cardiac rhythm disease management division is evident at just about every turn. Not that the native Minnesotan would admit to it, though. "This building combined the efforts of a huge group of very, very talented and very capable people,'' Mahle said this week. "I really hope it reflects the needs and aspirations and desires of the employees who work within the space.'' Until just a few months ago, the 62-year-old Mahle supervised those employees, having run the $4.9 billion business -- or parts of it -- for the past 27 years. In August, the president's title was turned over to Pat Mackin, and Mahle was named Medtronic's executive vice president and senior health care policy adviser, a move he said was first discussed several years ago with former CEO Art Collins. Here are some other facts about the building, which sits at the intersection of I-35W and U.S. 10: ??About 3,000 people work at the Mounds View facility, which has space for hundreds more. There is no larger concentration of Medtronic workers in any one spot, including the companys world headquarters building along I-694 in Fridley. ??The facility features three eight-story towers connected by 30-foot-wide glass links big hallways that include conference rooms, dining tables, galleys and other amenities meant to make them destination points, said Jim Driessen, the companys director of construction and engineering service. ??No other Medtronic workplace offers on-site access to a Caribou Coffee shop, a U.S. Bank branch and oil-change services by Lube N Go of Minnesota.
