Plus with my fight against breast cancer I really want to stay away from all chemicals. My Cancer dietician wants me to increase my calories and of course carbs. She feels I am nutrionally depriving myself and it is detrimental to my health. I am OK with increasing calories, but not carbs. I told her I need to stay under 140 after meals. She more or less said that was impossible for a diabetic. I explained to her I already had diabetic complications and I am trying to prevent any more. I have been eating mostly softer foods like smoothies and greek yogurt and lentil soups because they are easier to digest. She wants me to eat more solid foods for energy. I am low on energy because I am anemic and have had toxic chemicals pumped into my body since last August. When you add my diabetes meds to the mix I have very little appetite. I made some pancake muffins today from All Day I Dream about food. I had to make some substitutions like flaxseed for the eggs and I totally left out the artificial sweetner. They were OK but definitely lacked sweetness. Are there any others who have to restrict artificia ls swertners?
