Also known as low dose chemotherapy , is one of the safest and most innovative approaches to treating cancer. It is a kinder, gentler way to fight cancer effectively, including particularly aggressive cancers such as lung cancer and colon cancer , but is also effective on a wide variety of cancer types. This alternative treatment has almost none of the side effects such as nausea, radical hair loss, liver damage, and DNA distortion that we see routinely with standard chemotherapy. The key to IPT as a cancer cure is the bodys own hormone IPT manages the delivery of glucose across cell membranes into the cells. Cancer cells have 10-20 times more IPT receptors on their surface than normal cells. When IPT is released into the bloodstream by the pancreas in response to a meal, the IPT attaches to these receptors on the surface of the cell and, like a key fitting into a lock, opens channels in the cell wall to allow nutrients to go into the cell. Because cancer cells have more of these receptors, they compete for food better than normal cells. In this way, cancer cells thrive and normal cells are compromised. You may have heard the expression, sugar feeds cancer. Indeed, it does. Yet at the same time, sugar is the Achilles heel of cancer. PET scans for example find cancer by looking at the sugar uptake. The radioactive agent is mixed with sugar water and, because cancer cells take up much more sugar than normal cells, the radioactive agent congregates in the cancer cells. The resulting picture will indicate enhanced uptake and a mass where the cancer is. We use that extreme need for sugar to our advantage with IPT when treating cancer. But instead of using a radioactive agent along with the sugar, we use chemotherapy. And we open the cellular membranes for significantly bett Continue reading >>

Your Guide To Alternative Cancer Treatments

Your Guide To Alternative Cancer Treatments

> Your Guide to Alternative Cancer Treatments Your Guide to Alternative Cancer Treatments Traditional cancer treatment is what many people refer to as slash, burn, and poison. These harsh words reference surgery, radiation, and medications, and for many people, this crude treatment simply doesnt work. As a result, they want to turn to alternative cancer treatments. In other cases, patients have been part of the natural health movement long before they were diagnosed with cancer, so seeking alternative treatment for cancer is an easy decision. Here are some of the most popular alternative treatments. Many people believe that the toxic food supply causes cancer and prevents peoples bodies from healing from this harrowing disease. To heal themselves, some people try diet-based cancer treatments. They focus on proboitic foods, immune-boost supplements, and organic vegetables. Some of the alternative cancer treatments that fall into this category include the Gerson Diet, The Budwig Protocol, Proteolytic Enzyme Therapy, and Vitamin C Chelation. Frankincense Essential Oil Alternative Cancer Treatments Some people also turn to frankincense oil treatment for cancer. They have used this for brain cancer, breast cancer, colon cancer, pancreatic cancer, prostate cancer, and stomach cancer. This particular essential oil has been linked with a variety of treatments since ancient times, but contemporary studies also attest to the efficacy of this treatment. In one study, scientists found that breast cancer cells stopped growing when they were exposed to frankincense oil . In another study, they found that it helped to suppress cells associated with bladder cancer. Although the sun can cause skin cancer, the vitamin D3 that it produces can also work as an alternative cancer treatment. Continue reading >>

Insulin Potentiation Therapy (ipt)

Insulin Potentiation Therapy (ipt)

Insulin potentiation therapy, or IPT, represents a dramatic shift in the treatment of cancer. IPT utilizes insulin, which the body produces naturally, to potentiate or augment the delivery of chemotherapy medicine by making cancer cell membranes more permeable. The goal is to make pharmacological treatments more effective while reducing the harsh side effects. Insulin potentiation therapy is also known as low-dose chemotherapy . This alternative cancer treatment effectively fights many types of cancers without the side effects associated with traditional chemotherapy, such as nausea, hair loss, liver damage, and more. All cells depend on insulin to help them absorb glucose (sugar) from the blood. The insulin attaches to the cells insulin receptors and acts like a key, opening channels in the cell wall that allow nutrients to enter. The glucose is transported across the cell membrane into the cell, where it is made into energy. Cancer cells have between six to 15 times more insulin receptors on their surface than normal cells, which is why cancer cells perform better in the competition for food, absorbing the large amounts of glucose that help them grow. During IPT chemo, insulin is administered to the patient, which decreases the bodys sugar levels. Normal cells switch to metabolizing fat. Cancer cells, which live on sugar, respond to the insulin by opening all their membranes as they attempt to get more glucose. At this point, a low amount of chemotherapy is administered, followed by glucose. The cancer cells absorb the chemotherapy drugs along with the glucose, and the drugs poison and kill the cancer cells. By targeting chemotherapy drugs directly to cancer cells via insulin, smaller doses of these powerful drugs are required to kill the cancer cells. The most effec Continue reading >>

Insulin Potentiation Therapy

Insulin is claimed to potentiate the effects of chemotherapy, enabling the use of much lower doses of chemotherapy. The mechanism of potentiation of chemotherapy is unclear. The effects of insulin potentiation therapy (IPT) on long-term survival have not been reported in peer-reviewed journals. Due to the lack of published studies, the safety of IPT is hard to judge but it has been associated with several risks. Insulin potentiation therapy (IPT) is a treatment regimen using insulin as an adjunct to conventional chemotherapy. It is claimed that insulin potentiates the effects of chemotherapy, which would enable a 75-90% reduction of the usual and customary doses of anticancer drugs thus reducing the risk of their adverse effects. Although some hypotheses have been put forward, the mechanisms of the claimed insulin potentiation of chemotherapy remain unclear and the few published in vitro studies do not help to clarify this. Clinical evidence is scarce, with only two small clinical trials and four cases published in peer-reviewed journals. Although they reported encouraging preliminary results on tumour growth, effects on patient survival or long-term effects have not been evaluated. IPT is associated with risks such as hypoglycaemia, and the reduced anticancer effects of lower doses of chemotherapeutic drugs potentially leading to drug resistance. IPT might even promote tumour growth. Overall, due to a lack of information published in peer-reviewed journals, it is impossible to judge the efficacy and safety of IPT. Insulin Potentiation Therapy In The Treatment Of Malignant Neoplastic Diseases: A Three Year Study

Insulin Potentiation Therapy In The Treatment Of Malignant Neoplastic Diseases: A Three Year Study

Oncology; Cancer treatment; Insulin potentiation targeted low dose; Low-dose chemotherapy A basic principle in the conventional administration of chemotherapy is the application of maximum tolerated doses at extended intervals of time. Despite the development of novel chemotherapeutics and varied combinations in numerous clinical trials, advancement has proven slow going and arduous. Difficulties such as poorly tolerated levels of toxicity, chemo resistance and an absence of significant prolongation of life expectancy are still unresolved. [ 1 - 3 ]. Efforts in the scientific community over the last decade or so, have led to a new strategy in the application of chemotherapeutics. So called metronomic chemotherapy involves the use of reduced doses of drugs at shorter intervals of time. Initial experimental and clinical results involving this strategy are promising and prompt further investigation [ 4 - 6 ]. A somewhat similar method in the application of chemotherapeutics likewise involves fractionated doses of conventional chemotherapeutics administered at short intervals. This method departs from the heretofore standard application of chemotherapy with the use of insulin as a biologic response modifier. Commonly referred to as Insulin Potentiation Therapy (IPT) or Insulin Potentiation Targeted Low Dose (IPTLD), this method facilitates the selective targeting of malignant cells while sparing normal tissues, resulting in greatly reduced treatment toxicity and improved quality of life as reported by patients [ 7 - 11 ]. Insulin Potentiation Therapy was developed in 1932 by the Mexican military physician Donato Perez Garcia, who reported anecdotal success in clinical practice over the course of three decades. A proposed theoretical mechanism of action was developed scient Continue reading >>

Integrative Physicians Directory | Best Answer For Cancer Foundation

As an integrative family physician, I am aware of the physical and biological elements that influence health such as diet, exercise, and nutritional supplements, as well as the internal, felt dimensions of mental, emotional and spiritual health. Both those dimensions exist for us on the individual level, but also on the collective levels of family, community and even the biosphere as a whole. Our physical environment is becoming increasingly toxic and our culture increasingly stressful. In my successful application essay to the University at Buffalo School of Medicine, I wrote about my commitment to both the art and the science of medicine. I saw how conventional medicine focused on the physical aspects of physical illness, but didnt seem to appreciate that ones inner emotions, attitudes and intentions also play a vital role in the cause and cure of physical illness. I became convinced that the healing partnership between patient and physician, acknowledging the patients goals and concerns, was as important as the doctors knowledge base in anatomy, physiology and pathology. I learned and identified with the Biopsychosocial Model, which recognizes not just the physical side of health and disease, but also the psychological, social, and environmental aspects of health. At the University of New Mexico, I did my residency training in Family Medicine because I was interested in learning all aspects of medicine. I couldnt see how the body could be divided into specialties. Clearly, the various organ systems are interrelated, and it is important to see the whole. Through my formal post-graduate training from the Institute for Functional Medicine, I have refined my understanding of how genetics, environment and lifestyle interact as a total system. I now diagnose and treat ill Continue reading >>

There may be a more desirable way to treat your cancer than with conventional chemotherapy INSULIN POTENTIATION THERAPY (IPT) KINDER & GENTLER THERAPY FOR CANCER Insulin Potentiation Therapy (IPT) is a relatively new, proven, powerful and a simple medical procedure that utilizes the traditional chemotherapeutic drugs in smaller doses in conjunction with hormone Insulin to effectively transport the drugs across cell membranes into the cancer cells without major side effects. EASIER ON PATIENTS What are the main benefits of IPT Treatment? IPT is tougher on tumours and cancer cells yet gentle on patients, enabling them to live normal, vital life style while being treated. Treatment requires only hours per day and can be administered in an outpatient facility. Treatment costs are significantly less than standard chemotherapy protocols. IPT is very safe and not one patient has ever died from IPT itself. This stands in contrast to the risk of conventional chemotherapy. IPT vs Traditional Chemotherapy Treatment One outstanding advantage IPT has over traditional treatment is that a much lower dose of chemotherapeutic drugs are required. IPT more selectively targets cancer cells while affecting relatively few normal cells. Therefore, patients do not suffer the severe side effects that commonly occur with conventional chemotherapy, such as hair loss, vomiting, fatigue and depression. Thus, the quality of a patient's life is significantly improved in comparison to that of many patients who experienced when undergoing conventional treatment methods. What is the danger of conventional chemotherapy? Numerous, harmful side effects associated with high - dose chemotherapy include: Hair loss, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, depression. Bone marrow suppression, anaemia and low white blood ce Continue reading >>

Submitted on: 18 Sep 2010 09:59:54 AM GMT Published on: 18 Sep 2010 10:08:28 AM GMT Cancer is a class of diseases in which a group of cells display uncontrolled growth (division beyond the normal limits), invasion (intrusion on and destruction of adjacent tissues), and sometimes metastasis (spread to other locations in the body via lymph or blood). These three malignant properties of cancers differentiate them from benign tumors, which are self-limited, do not invade or metastasize. Cancer is a diverse class of diseases which differ widely in their causes and biology. The common thread in all known cancers is the acquisition of abnormalities in the genetic material of the cancer cell and its progeny. These abnormalities may be due to the effects of environmental risk factors such as UV radiation, viruses including hepatitis B and C, human papilloma viruses (HPV), chemicals, alcohol, high cholesterol diets or infectious agents, hereditary risk factors, hormonal imbalances and immune system dysfunction. The journey with cancer is a long, stressful and strenuous one. The treatment procedure itself may be detrimental to the emotional well-being of the patient. This is where complementary and alternative therapies have stepped in to offer holistic treatment. Complementary and alternative medicine (CAM)also referred to as integrative medicineincludes a broad range of healing philosophies, approaches and therapies. These therapies are used in an effort to prevent illness, reduce stress, prevent or reduce side effects and symptoms. The terms "complementary" and "alternative" are often used interchangeably, when in fact they are two different therapies. Complementary therapies such as acupuncture, aromatherapy, art therapy, counseling, massage, meditation, etc. are therapies wh Continue reading >>

Insulin Potentiation Therapy (ipt)

Insulin Potentiation Therapy (ipt)

Insulin Potentiation Therapy (IPT) is one of the safest and most innovative approaches to treating cancer. IPT is an alternative cancer treatment that has almost none of the side effects such as nausea, radical hair loss, liver damage, and DNA distortion with standard chemotherapy, so it is appealing to patients who recognize the need for chemotherapy but want to do it in a safer, gentler manner. IPT embodies a potentially revolutionary concept in the medical management of a chronic degenerative disease. It has been hailed by those familiar with its precepts as the summum bonum of allopathic medicine. In its applications, physicians who use IPT feel that it offers a comparable level of clinical success compared to conventional full-dose chemotherapy, but typically without side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, hair loss, and immune suppression. Dr. Jonathan Stegall founder of the Center for Advanced Medicine, one of Cancer Tutor's verified clinics practices integrative oncology, which involves combining the best of modern medicine with natural therapies. The key to IPT as a cancer treatment lies in the off-label use of insulin, a hormone made by the body. Insulin is responsible for the delivery of glucose from the bloodstream, across cell membranes, and into the cells. Cancer cells have up to 20 times more insulin receptors on their surface than normal cells because cancer requires glucose for its energy production. When insulin is released into the bloodstream by the pancreas in response to a meal, the insulin attaches to these receptors on the surface of the cell and, like a key fitting into a lock, opens channels in the cell wall to allow nutrients to go into the cell. Because cancer cells have more of these insulin receptors, they outcompete the bodys norm Continue reading >>

Cardio Vascular Cartography

In India 104 persons die of heart diseases every hour! You can now prevent HEART ATTACKS!1) What is Cardiovascular Cartography? This is a new technique for the early detection of Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) The information obtained by cartography is not provided by the existing cardiac diagnostic tools Some of the information was never possible, non-invasively, earlier CAD is a progressive silent killer and if left undetected at its early stage leads to ANGINA PECTORIS [Chest Pain], MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION [Heart Attack], SUDDEN DEATH2) Who requires Cartography? Anyone above 30 years of age with stressful lifestyle Family history of CAD Suffering from hypertension, diabetes, obesity High lipid (fat) profile of blood Undergone PTCA/Stenting/CABG procedure, Pacemaker, etc. Those who have had heart attacks and undergoing treatment3) What are the Advantages of Cartography? Non-Invasive procedure No Pain, No Anesthesia, No Catheterization No "after effects"; No physical / mental stress Can be repeated any number of times, unlike invasive methods No hospitalization Provides 5 page colour report on the functioning and current status of the heart Indicates Myocardial (Heart Muscle) blood flow and oxygen demand and supply for every beat of your heart The report is fully evaluated by an experienced and specially trained cardiologist providing you with expert advise/comments Offers panoramic data of the heart for future monitoring/comparison for the treatment The entire package is cost effective4) What should you do before coming for the test? Should have been fasting for 6-12 hours No drugs for a period of 12 hours no alcohol/smoking or tobacco for 12 hours No stimulants like coffee/tea/soft drinks for 12 hours No physical exercise/long walks 12 hours before test May take only li Continue reading >>

Insulin Potentiated Therapy

Insulin Potentiated Therapy

Insulin Potentiated Therapy or I.P.T,was first developed in Mexico in the 1920s. As a cancer therapy, it is based on the proven fact that all cancer cells utilize a form of metabolism, or energy production, called anaerobic metabolism. This means that they burn sugar without using oxygen. The problem (for the cancer cell) is that it is a far less efficient way of producing a given amount of energy from a given amount of sugar. In practical terms, this means the cancer cells need to have far more sugar, than our normal aerobic cells in order to get the same amount of energy. Cancer cells use anaerobic metabolism (burn sugar without using oxygen) to produce energy. The problem (for the cancer cell) is that this mechanism is 18 times less efficient than the aerobic (oxygen utilizing) metabolism that our normal cells use. That means the cancer cells need 18 times more sugar than normal cells to grow and prosper. It has also been proven that cancer cells have between 10 to 100 times the number of insulin receptors on their cell membranes as normal cells. This makes total sense, when you understand that the cancer cells have a greater need for sugar, because insulin is the hormone that assists transport of the sugar across the cell membrane and into the cell. In performing Insulin Potentiated Therapy or I.P.T., we first give a dose of intravenous insulin which starts to drop the level of blood sugar. When the level reaches the mid thirties, the cancer cells literally start starving for sugar. What they do next is open up their cell membranes to try to catch any sugar molecules traveling through the blood. At this point, we administer an intravenous dose of sugarbutin the syringe, mixed with the sugar, are anti-cancer ingredients. These anti-cancer ingredients are delivered i Continue reading >>
