So, if we just know how to convrt from moles to grams, we're golden. The periodic table tells us have many Atomic Mass Units (AMUs) any element weighs (it's actually a weighted average of naturally occuring isotopes). The same number also tell us have many grams of a particular element are in a mole. For example, the periodic table lists "12.01" by carbon. That means that in a sample of naturally occuring carbon, your average carbon weighs 12.01 AMUs. Really, most fo the carbons weigh 12 AMUs and much less carbon in your sample weighs 14 AMUs, so the weighted average is 12.01. This number also tells us that 1 mole of carbon weighs 12.01 grams. 1 mole is 6.02 x 10^23 carbon atoms. Let's look at all the elements in glucose.
