I know that the claims are probably horse s**t, but I thought I'd ask anyway. I can't see that it would stop diabetes in it's tracks otherwise we'd all be on it but it has been around for a while as a naturopathic medicine used in cancer treatments. Side effects of this tea are that it lowers blood glucose, there are also other side effects such as diarrhoea, nausea, etc and people with kidney or liver problems must not touch it, I think we should stick to cinnamon and fenugreek...? Essiac seems to be primarily touted as a "cure" for cancer, but there is (supposedly) a case of a woman who's insulin dependant diabetes was cured as a side effect of using essiac for cancer. I assume that it was a type 2 insulin dependant that was "cured". Chocfish just wandering through the threads ( must get a life !!) noticed you mentioned Fenugreek. I have heard of the Plant but didnt know it had any effect on diabetes . The discovery of the association between diabetes and Essiac occurred when one of Caisse’s patients with both colon cancer and diabetes not only saw remission of her cancer on Essiac, but also claimed that her diabetes disappeared. I have done some reading regarding "essiac" and how this has cured many people of cancer and two people of type 1 diabetes. I would like to know if anyone has looked into this product to see and test it in people with diabetes. This would be a natural way to treat and maybe cure diabetes, if in fact it worked. I am sure the medical community is trying there best to find a cure, but I also want to make sure they are looking in other directions other than islet cell transplants and stem cell transplants.
