Tomorrow is Easter Sunday! Chances are, you probably have Ham on the menu. If you want to free up room in your oven this year or simply want an easier alternative way to cook your ham, try this Easy Crockpot Spiral Ham recipe that uses your slow cooker! This recipe needs just three very basic ingredients plus your ham. With less than five minutes of prep your ham will be cooking and ready for a yummy Easter dinner! This recipe literally takes no more than five minutes prep. Start by cutting off the packaging off your Ham and toss away the glaze packet and any other packaging including a bone cover, if one was included. You wont need any of this since you are making your own glaze and using your crock pot. Place the ham flat side down in your crock pot. Now, rub the cup of brown sugar all over the sides and top of the ham coating the outer skin. Next, pour your pineapple juice and maple syrup right on top of the ham. If you dont have any pineapple juice on hand, you can use pineapple rings and just lay the rings on top of your ham and pour the remaining juices from the can in with your meat. Both ways work well. Could I use this crockpot recipe for a spiral sliced ham? I love the convenience when feeding a big crowd. Some in my family will be putting on split rolls. If not, I'll try it on another occasion as sounds very good. I have made a spiral ham in the crock pot and it turned out great. You will need to adjust the cooking time, as it will cook quicker than a regular ham. I did not have honey dijon mustard just the original and it turned out great not too sweet and not too sharp. We all really enjoyed the ham. I also turned the ham halfway through so that the top absorbed the glaze. This way of making ham is a breeze. Thanks for the recipe. I make a boneless spiral sliced ham from Fred Meyer..best ham ever, it's flame broiled. I put the cloves in all the spiral cuts, and then place the ham face down in my crock pot and pour a mixture of brown sugar, pineapple juice, and a little honey mustard over it, and cook it for about 3 hr. on low. It's always delicious. Be sure to spray your crock pot for easy clean-up;. I do the the honey, brown sugar, pineapple juice & a bit of mustard glaze then the pineapple slices /cloves on a Boar's Head boneless ham- it comes out great - reminding to spray the crock pot is a good idea! I add a halved maraschino cherry in the center of the pineapple ring at table time for the kids- they love them Can you use honey in place of maple syrup?If not,what? I usually do a mix of honey and brown sugar when I make ham in a crock pot and it tastes delicious. Our mouths watered as we waited impatiently for it to finish baking. It smelled of the holidays, of the allspice and cinnamon and cloves. This is a gorgeous glaze for your Christmas ham. I used the glaze on a baked smoked ham but you can also use it on a spiral cut ham and toss that sugary packet that comes with it. The crust is lovely and dark and the ham was so moist and full of flavor. I hope you enjoy. 1 cup fresh pineapple, diced (canned is okay but has a few more carbs) 4 Tbsp. sugar free orange marmalade (Smucker's brand is fine) 10 lb. baked smoked or spiral cut ham (fully cooked) Preheat oven to 325' (or manufacturer recommendation) Pulse all ingredients in the bowl of a food processor until smooth. This makes enough glaze for a ten pound ham. Line a large roasting pan with aluminum foil. Liberally coat the ham with the glaze on all sides. Bake for about 2 hours until the glaze is golden brown and the internal temperature of the ham has reached 140'. Check for manufacturers cooking recommendations for cooking time. Youve got it all wrong, you glazey people! You dont need to DO that awful gooey stuffto your beautiful ham to make it good. In fact, the making of a perfect Easter ham is incredibly simple. This is how its done in my family, and it turns out perfect every time. Making a perfect ham starts at the store. This is where, honestly, I called my dad because he has bought many more hams than I have. He says its best to buy a shank ham rather than a butt ham. Unfortunately the hams I found in the store were not labelled (or at least I couldnt find the info if they were!)I could find no mention of which body part the ham came from. I had to choose based on looks. Choose a ham that has more meat than fat. Pretty much all the hams you find at the store (in the US) are city hams that are pre-cooked, but there are many varieties of those. If I could cook with it every day I would. There is nothing like spending 5 minutes tossingsome stuff into the pot, turning it on, and then a few hours later having a meal ready. Or at least your main dish. I use our crockpot a lot on the weekends so that I caneither hang out with my family or spend time prepping meals/snacks for the rest of the week instead of just for dinner that night.
