Step Out Walk To Stop Diabetes

Website: Step Out Walk to Stop Diabetes is a Corpus Christi tradition. Affectionately called "Dancing Through Downtown", our event begins and ends at Whataburger Field. The walk itself is just under 4 miles with live entertainment all along the route. There are also numerous water stations and rest stops for our patrons. Those walkers with diabetes (type 1, type 2, or gestational) are identified as Red Striders. Red Striders are celebrated throughout the walk and at the pre and post event and are the reason why we walk. Our walk is a free community event where people of all ages and backgrounds come together to support the mission of the American Diabetes Association, to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes. This includes raising both awareness and funds for the Association. As a whole, 78% of the American Diabetes Association's total annual expenses go towards research, information, advocacy, and public awareness activities. Continue reading >>

American Diabetes Association: 2018 Step Out: Chicagoland

Why is there 1 walk this year, instead of 2? The American Diabetes Association remains mindful of the operating costs across all events in Illinois. This allows us to optimize our mission impact and continue to be good stewards of your fundraising dollars.
