Juices To Reduce Type 2 Diabetes In A Week

Diabetes is a chronic illness that occurs when the body is not able to regulate the blood sugar levels. This disease can be triggered by a number of causes, among them genetic factors, obesity, stress, poor diet, other illnesses, surgeries, medicines, viruses, etc. Insulin is a hormone produced by the pancreas which is responsible for regulating blood sugar levels. Diabetes occurs when the body cannot produce enough insulin or creates a resistant to it, or both. What are the different types of diabetes? Type 1 Diabetes: this is a type of diabetes that can occur at any age, but which affects children, teenagers and young adults, in particular. With this type of diabetes, the body cannot produce insulin or only produces very little because the cells which are responsible for this stop working properly. In this case, the solution is to daily inject a dose of insulin, which must be recommended by a medical expert according to the particular needs of each patient. Type 2 Diabetes: this is the most common type of diabetes. It usually affects older adults, over the age of 60, but nowadays much of the younger population is being affected with this disease due to obesity and a poor diet. In this case, the diabetes is usually detected when it is already very advanced because most people do not realize that they are suffering from this disease. What are the symptoms of diabetes? Type 2 diabetes develops slowly in the majority of its sufferers, and in many cases, the symptoms do not appear until the disease is already very advanced. Some of the symptoms that can occur due to diabetes are, among others, the following: Frequent urination. Constant thirst. Fatigue. Slow healing. Repeated infections. Loss of hair and teeth. Excess loss of weight. Blurry vision. Is it possible to contro Continue reading >>

Fisk holds a Master of Science in kinesiology from Marywood University. The nutrients in celery may help prevent Type 2 diabetes. You may toss celery in with soups or stews or perhaps munch on raw celery every now and then, but celery isnt a vegetable you probably envision for its health benefits. You might want to think again, though, because it's jam packed with nutrients, some of which may help ward off Type 2 diabetes and benefit diabetics. It is estimated that by 2030, 439 million adults worldwide will suffer from this disease, so keep celery on hand and make it an easy and inexpensive part of your healthy diet. One cup of chopped celery contains more than 29 micrograms of vitamin K. Vitamin K reduces inflammation, which may increase your sensitivity to insulin and improve your glucose metabolism. A study published in 2010 in Diabetes Care examined the vitamin K intake of 38,094 men and women between the ages of 20 and 70 years. The researchers discovered those with the highest vitamin K intake had a lower risk of Type 2 diabetes compared with those with the lowest intake. The same bacteria that can wreak havoc on your stomach may also contribute to Type 2 diabetes. Helicobacter pylori is a bacterium found in the stomach that causes inflammation and ulcers. A study published in 2012 in the "Journal of Infectious Disease" discovered that adults with H. Pylori in their gut had higher blood sugar levels than those without H. Pylori. This bacteria can triple your risk for Type 2 diabetes. You dont always feel its symptoms, so munch on celery, which has the unique ability to blo Continue reading >>

Juicing For Diabetics – Just A Myth Or Can It Really Help You?

Juicing For Diabetics – Just A Myth Or Can It Really Help You?

Juicing works amazingly well for all sorts of conditions. It can help add nutrients, increase overall caloric intake, and helps stomach problems. But, can juicing really help diabetes? This is a question that we’re going to answer. For most people, they don’t have to worry too much about the finer details of juicing. They don’t have to worry about how many carbohydrates they take in, and can juice whatever they want to. Diabetics, on the other hand, have to be very concerned with a number of sugars they take in. And unfortunately, juicing tends to concentrate sugars. So, diabetics really need to pay attention to the type of juices they use and the quantity. Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune condition that causes the person to lose their pancreas function because of the autoimmune system attacks and destroys the islet cells that produce insulin. Type 1 diabetes most often occurs between the ages of 4 and 10, but anyone can be affected by type 1 diabetes. This type of diabetes cannot be cured. Because type 1 diabetics do not have pancreas function or have very minimal pancreas function that’s declining, they have to rely on an external source of insulin. For every sugar molecule they take in, they have to inject a corresponding amount of insulin. We won’t go into how much insulin it takes because every person is different. So, when juicing, type 1 diabetics have to know how many sugars they will be taking in. That way, they can take an appropriate amount of insulin to metabolize the sugars. Type 2 diabetes is a lifestyle condition that is caused by a person consuming too many sugars for too long. The pancreas has worked so hard for so long, that it is worn out. The over-consumption of sugars has also caused the body to become resistant to its own insulin and this Continue reading >>

Juice For Diabetics. A Big No, No! Here’s Why…

Juice For Diabetics. A Big No, No! Here’s Why…

If you’ve ever seen someone toss a handful of produce into a machine that turns food into juice, then you already know what “juicing” is! And you might be thinking that stuffing a whole day’s worth of fruits and vegetables into a drink that you can down in minutes is a great idea. Think about all the vitamins, minerals, and fiber you’re getting all in one dose. Juice must be great for diabetics, right? After all, loads of health gurus promote juicing as a way to guzzle down loads of antioxidants for great energy, health, vibrant glowing skin and to combat disease. So, it must be good, right? Sure, if you take it at face value, juicing sounds fun and efficient. But, if you take a closer look you’ll find several reasons why juicing is a big “no, no” for diabetics! Reason #1 Juicing removes the fiber from the fruits and vegetables. When you eat an apple whole with the skin on it, you get about 4.5 grams of fiber. But if you toss that same apple into a juicer, you end up with only 0.2 grams of fiber. And by the way, we don't recommend you eat apples either. Stick to only low carb fruits. I'm just using apples as a demonstrative example. But just know, to some extent, the same changes occur across all fruits and vegetables. Getting back to fiber, you absolutely need it to help with blood sugar regulation, to help lower cholesterol levels, and to aid in digestion and regular bowel movements. If you look at the following nutrition table you will notice that most of the items on it are very low in fiber. That's because we get fiber mainly from eating whole foods. Before moving on, I just want to point out that things like lemon, lime and grapefuit are rarely used in one cup portions like some of the sweeter fruits. Lemon, lime and grapefuit are fruits you can us Continue reading >>

You Do Not Need A Cure For Diabetes, You Can Do It Yourself With Only Two Ingredients

Diabetes is a condition where the amount of glucose in your blood is too high because the body cannot use it properly. This is because your pancreas doesn’t produce any insulin, or not enough insulin, to help glucose enter your body’s cells – or the insulin that is produced does not work properly. This condition is also known as insulin resistance. Even though this disease is incurable, there are many different homemade remedies to control it and maintain it in the normal level. Worldwide, it afflicts more than 380 million people. And the World Health Organization estimates that by 2030, that number of people living with diabetes will be more than double. Today, diabetes takes more lives than AIDS and breast cancer combined — claiming the life of 1 American every 3 minutes. It is a leading cause of blindness, kidney failure, amputations, heart failure and stroke. If you suffer from diabetes, it’s very important for you to keep your blood sugar levels at normal range, in order to function properly. You need to maintain a healthy diet, and use different prescription or natural medications to relieve the unpleasant symptoms. To make this homemade natural remedy for diabetes, you’ll need just 2 ingredients. Ingredients: 300 grams of celery root 6 lemons Directions: First, you need to grate the washed celery root and put it in an enamel pot. The enamel pot should not be damaged. Then, you need to add the squeezed lemon juice. Close the pot, and put it in bigger pot, which you filled with water previously. Put it on medium heat and wait until the water in the bigger pot starts to boil. When the water starts to boil, you need to reduce the heat and simmer on low heat for 2 hours. When it’s done cooking, remove the pots from heat and don’t open the smaller pot w Continue reading >>

How Juicing These 20 Foods Can Prevent Or Reverse Type 2 Diabetes

Diabetes type 2 is caused by years of faulty eating. Begin to include plenty fresh plant foods in your dietary and bring it under control, maybe even reverse it. Understanding Diabetes Mellitus Doctors often use the full term “Diabetes Mellitus” rather than “diabetes” alone, to distinguish this disorder from “Diabetes Insipidus” which is another rare disease that does not affect blood sugar levels. There are two types of diabetes mellitus: Type I: Known as juvenile diabetes, occurs when the pancreas fails to produce adequate insulin. Insulin is the hormone used by the body to make blood sugar (glucose) available to cells. Recent evidence reported by John Hopkins University suggests that consumption of dairy products by sensitive children causes the immune cells to respond with excessive aggressiveness to antigens in cow’s milk. These antigens may attach themselves to cells in the pancreas. Once attached, the antigens are attacked by immune cells that, in the process, destroy both the antigens and the pancreatic cells that produce insulin. Most people who have type I diabetes develop this disorder before age 30. Type II: The most common form of diabetes, usually occurs in adulthood in people older than forty; but these days, the age number is getting smaller and smaller. For most adult-onset diabetics, the pancreas actually produces more insulin than is necessary, at least in the early stages of the illness. Dietary fat and cholesterol infiltrate the blood and block insulin from making glucose available to cells. As the disorder continues, the pancreas weakens, and production of insulin diminishes until insulin injections may be prescribed. Constantly overeating the wrong kinds of foods over the years is the main risk factor for developing type II diabetes. Continue reading >>

Not all juices are created equal, and using vegetables, like celery, kale, broccoli, and cucumber, can help reduce the spike in your blood sugar. When Lori Chong bought a juicer, she hoped she would be able to create low-carb concoctions that wouldn't spike her blood sugar too much. As a person with diabetes herself, Chong understands the importance of tracking carb intake. But within weeks, Chong, a registered dietitian and certified diabetes educator at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, had set aside her juicer and returned to eating full fruits and vegetables instead. Now, she hardly uses the device at all. Juicing for People With Diabetes: Is It Safe? I dont think juicing is the best idea for people with diabetes, says Chong, who has type 1 diabetes. She explains that people with both type 1 and type 2 diabetes need to control their blood sugar not only throughout the day, but at any individual point in the day as well. While juicing can be safe if you focus on nonstarchy, or low-carbohydrate, vegetables and limit diabetes-friendly fruits , the overall carbs in juices can add up quickly, Chong says. Consuming too many carbs can be dangerous for people with diabetes, as theyre broken down into glucose in the blood, thereby spiking blood sugar. Blood sugar control is imperative for effective diabetes management. Anna Simos, CDE, MPH, manager of the diabetes education and prevention program at Continue reading >>
