This course provides a comprehensive introduction to BodyTalk for Animals for use in clinical settings with animals as the client, as well as sessions with your own animals, using the techniques and concepts learned in BodyTalk Fundamentals and BodyTalk Principles of Consciousness. This course begins with a power-point presentation and discussion of the theoretical aspects that support the concepts covered in the BodyTalk for Animals manual. You will be encouraged to share your own personal experience with animals as a layperson and or professional. Class exercises throughout will create a deeper understanding of the interconnectedness that the animals represent on the earth at this time. We dedicate a large portion of the class to gaining confidence with your hands-on practical application of BodyTalk with the animal kingdom. You will perform practical sessions with human surrogates representing the live animals, followed by instructor-supervised class de-briefs of your sessions. For your practical sessions there will be live dogs, horses, cats, and at times, also farm animals, zoo animals or sanctuary animals, depending on location and availability of animal clients. Techniques and theories covered in BodyTalk for Animals can be applied to any animal, however discussion within the theoretical aspect of the course will focus mainly on dogs, cats and horses. Basic classifications and characteristics of dogs, cats and horses including breed characteristics, behavior, basic animal and group consciousness. Your Pancreas: Digestion & Hormones
The pancreas is unique in that it is both an organ and an endocrine gland. It serves the function of producing enzymes that are essential for the breakdown of fat, protein and carbohydrates. In addition to this, your pancreas produces the hormones insulin, glucagon and somatostatin. Elevated insulin levels are primary concerns for diabetics and those with heart disease risk. Some research shows that the pancreas may also serve another important function. In 1902, the Scottish Embryoligist John Beard proposed that proteolytic, pancreatic enzymes were the body's primary defense against cancer. Within a few years, pancreatic enzyme cancer clinics popped up all over London. Not too long after this, Madame Curie proposed radiation therapy for cancer patients and Dr. Beard's work was soon lost in the tomes of medical history. Dr. Beard's pancreatic enzyme therapy for cancer was re-evaluated in the 1960's by William Donald Kelley, a dentist who had used Beard's protocol to cure himself of pancreatic cancer. Kelley went on to become known as "the father of Metabolic Typing". He offered individualized nutritional therapies for patients, mostly who had cancer. The pancreas is signalled by the hormone CCK (cholecystokinin) to produce pancreatic enzymes, which when released into the upper part of the small intestine called the duodenum, effectively break down protein, fat and carbohydrates. To review some of the basic and important components of digestion: The pre-digestion of food takes place in the top portion of the stomach. Here, salivary enzymes and any food enzymes present will pre-digest food before acidification takes place. Somewhere between 30-60 minutes after food is consumed, the stomach's parietal cells should produce hydrochloric acid. Production of this vital acid i Continue reading >>

The Lark Letter
The Lark Letter, March 2006 Volume 13, Number 3 In last months Miracle Corner, I shared with you the story of Ian Purses dramatic recovery from 12 years of debilitating chronic fatigue. His recovery came through the use of BodyTalkan innovative new healing system that uses applied kinesiology, or muscle testing, to query the wisdom of the body and create a pathway for healing even the most difficult health problems. I first found out about BodyTalk last year when my friend Brooke Baggett, a Reiki Master healer and acupuncturist, started to study this system. She wanted to use it with her other therapies to help heal her patients. I was quite intrigued by her description of BodyTalk, since I began to study and work with muscle testing many years ago and found that it did, indeed, provide a way of tapping into the bodys innate wisdom. Brooke has since integrated BodyTalk into her practice and, like Ian, has had great success with its use. She has found BodyTalk to be very helpful for a variety of health issuesincluding asthma, reproductive disorders, allergies, chronic fatigue, infections, digestive disorders, Parkinsons disease, anxiety, depression, learning disorders, back pain, and arthritis. She recently shared with me an interesting case history of one of her clients. For me, it reinforced the wonderful healing potential of BodyTalk, and I asked Brooke to share it with you in her own words: Helping Marguerite When Marguerite first came to me, she appeared to be the picture of health. She was a young 42-year-old who exercised daily, ate healthfully, and seemed quite emotionally balanced. So, I was surprised to hear that her chief complaint was daily migraines, with pain so severe that she required prescription medication. I have been able to completely relieve the pa Continue reading >>

Bodytalk - Distance Healing
BodyTalk Terminology: Understanding Your Session Every industry has its own language. This will aid you in becoming familiar with BodyTalk terminology. The Protocol - is the chart created by Dr. Veltheim that the practitioner refers to in order to establish what the priorities and links are. (See Common Priorities or Links, below). Agenda - this is one of the first things your practitioner will ask before a session; it's another way of asking about your most important health concerns. Formula - similar to a math formula to solve an equation, BodyTalk uses all the factors that make up the human body and combines them in the order shown by innate wisdom necessary to balance the bodymind and generate healing. Innate Wisdom - Innate wisdom is the intelligence that drives the bodymind towards homeostasis, or balance. It is that which animates you. It has a clear record of all your genetic information, all you experiences, all your emotions, all your physical, mental and spiritual ailments - since the time of your conception. While it would be impossible for you to remember or even know all of those details, your innate wisdom knows everything that makes you, you; and it knows what areas of the bodymind must be addressed to achieve balance for healing. Reestablishing Communication - In the same way that a cut finger heals itself, your body can heal your health concerns once communication is reestablished. If the brain, the blood, and the finger didn't communicate chemically, platelet's might form too slowly and inhibit clotting, so innate wisdom may indicate tapping out the blood to the platelet's. Occasionally the bodymind will want to disassociate from an emotion or a memory that has an emotional charge that is leading you away from balance. An example would be a subconsci Continue reading >>

Alternatives Gateway: Articles
Many students ask for my opinion on writing down links as you go. Does it really take you out of the zone? In short my answer is that I strongly recommend writing down links as you go. But I'd like todiscuss the question as it really is about how we learn to access our intuitive process more fully. Just to be clear, the issue is whether or not you write down the links as you get them, or can you wait until after you tap out to write them down. If you don't write them down at all, you are not in professional practice, because keeping records of your sessions is an essential part of a professional health-care encounter. I find reviewing my notes from previous sessions an invaluable aid to understanding my clients issues from a deeper level. The argument against writing as you go is that writing is a left-brain activity that takes you out of contact with your right-brain holographic intuitive process. But the situation is not really that simple. Effective intuition happens when you are relaxed, and becomes much more difficult when you are under stress. So then the question really becomes whether or not writing down what you have so far allows you to release the mental effort of remembering the link. If the answer is yes, then writing down your links as you go helps you to relax. My impression is that the answer to this question is yes for the overwhelming majority of students. It certainly is easier for me, even though I used to keep literally thousands of details in my mind when I was writingsoftware programsin my previous career. Another take on right-brain vs. left-brain is the fact that many practitioners summarize the link verbally while they are discovering it. Speech is also a left-brain activity, but if you get used to doing it while running the protocol you can s Continue reading >>

Stable Blood Sugar Helps Weight Loss, Insomnia, Mood Swings, And More!
by Vyara Bridgeman | posted in: Articles | 0 In this BodyTalk 4 Life newsletter you will learn about the importance of stable blood sugar for weight loss, emotional release, insomnia, and much more. You will also learn how you can easily stabilize you blood sugar levels through incorporating some simple diet and exercise changes into your daily life. Read on to also find out how we can help your blood sugar levels using a very powerful BodyTalk technique. Stable blood sugar for weight loss, insomnia, mood swings and more The level of sugar in your blood depends mainly on how often and what you eat. It usually rises after a meal (especially after a meal rich in refined carbohydrates), and it goes down when you fast. The pancreas and the liver help you regulate those fluctuations by secreting appropriate hormones into the blood stream. Some degree of fluctuation of the blood sugar levels is admissible but in general, the more stable your blood sugar is the better. Benefits of keeping your blood sugar stable: Stable mood the more stable your blood sugar is, the happier and the more stable emotionally you will feel. Less stressed, worried, anxious and depresse fluctuations in blood sugar are associated with hormones that turn on the stress response in the body; therefore, you will feel more stressed and anxious if your blood sugar is unstable. Control of appetite the less stable your blood sugar is, the more the appetite goes out of control. People who constantly feel hungry usually experience big fluctuations in their blood sugar levels. Improved quality of sleep the more stable your blood sugar is, the better you will sleep and the more refreshed you will feel on wake up. Stable energy if your blood sugar doesnt fluctuate unhealthily, you will have more stable and even e Continue reading >>
