This clean eating ranch dressing comes together with simple spices from your pantry. This months Clean Eating Magazine had a section in it for clean eating dressings. My eyes and ears really perked up when I saw a Clean Eating Ranch Dressing Recipe. Of all the things I sorely miss, its ranch dressing. I mean, theres just NOTHING you cant put it on. I even tried it on vanilla ice cream once, and it wasnt half bad. Well, anyway. well just say I did the Snoopy Dance when I saw I could make my own. I dont know why it never occurred to me to try, but now I have, and oh boy is it Y.U.M.M.Y.!!! Its not as thick as regular ranch, but the flavor is definitely there. The one thing about the recipe that I didnt care for was the use of fresh herbs. Now, before you cross your eyes and say whatever, Tiffany, its not that I dont like fresh herbs. Quite the contrary. I love them. I just dont use them much in the winter months. They are a total summer thing for me. Dont ask me why. They just are. And I hate buying bundles of herbs at the store.     Thanks for the info Scottie thats great for some I wish it worked that well for me. I would hate to think what my A1c would be without it. I actually found the first time byetta brought my bs down to about a 6.0 or lower the problem was cost and the second time I went on byetta the A1c went up over 7.5 and that wasnt much fun.

    Im not on meds but I find it hard to imagine that on average met would drop someones A1C from say 7.5 to 6 as the endo claims it drops an average of 1.5 points on met.

    So, I'm fairly new to this idea that my body can't overcome something. My father has pre-diabetes and just recently started taking medication for diabetes. He controlled it via diet and exercise. Type 2.
    I got results with A1C of 7.6% and fasting glucose of 148. Both in the diabetic range however Vitamin D was really low and cholesterol really high. From what I read those can both lead to diabetes.
    I guess my question is can one test determine this? If so, is this high of sugar levels controllable without medication? I'm only 28 (in July) and this is all kind of overwhelming. I lost my shit over the weekend and kind of went into a cocoon. I have been dieting and exercising for the passed 2-3 weeks and already lost almost 20 lbs. (I was very inactive and terrible diet.)
    I guess I am just looking to those who have type 2 and what their numbers were when they found out and what they have been doing since. I can't see an endo until late April.
    Also, what fruits can I eat? I love grapes but nothing is yay or nay on them that I can find. So I don't feel like I should be eating them. Any other dieting tips? I am getting tired of salad :(

    A meter & test strips can be purchased without a prescription. You might start keeping a food and activity diary and testing your blood once or twice a day to check for patterns. Carbs are generally more likely to elevate your levels, not just sugars. Get this under control early to avoid long term grief. YMMV
