Clean Eating Ranch Dressing Recipe

This clean eating ranch dressing comes together with simple spices from your pantry. This months Clean Eating Magazine had a section in it for clean eating dressings. My eyes and ears really perked up when I saw a Clean Eating Ranch Dressing Recipe. Of all the things I sorely miss, its ranch dressing. I mean, theres just NOTHING you cant put it on. I even tried it on vanilla ice cream once, and it wasnt half bad. Well, anyway. well just say I did the Snoopy Dance when I saw I could make my own. I dont know why it never occurred to me to try, but now I have, and oh boy is it Y.U.M.M.Y.!!! Its not as thick as regular ranch, but the flavor is definitely there. The one thing about the recipe that I didnt care for was the use of fresh herbs. Now, before you cross your eyes and say whatever, Tiffany, its not that I dont like fresh herbs. Quite the contrary. I love them. I just dont use them much in the winter months. They are a total summer thing for me. Dont ask me why. They just are. And I hate buying bundles of herbs at the store. They are super expensive, and I inevitably end up throwing away a huge portion because I only needed them for one single recipe. So I adapted the Clean Eat Continue reading >>

Diabetes drugs how much do they lower A1C?

    Hi there
This is just for my interest really. I was reading this a little earlier
Endocrinologist Anastassios Pittas, MD, MSc, and colleagues at Tufts-New England Medical Center in Boston
According to Pittas, metformin lowers A1C levels by an average of 1.5 percentage points; sulfonylureas lower A1C levels by an average of 1.5–2 percentage points; and thiazolidinediones (TZDs) reduce A1C levels by an average of 1–1.5 percentage points.
    http://docnews.diabetesjournals.org/.../4/10/1.2.full
Has got any studys or data that is fairly accurate in regard to how much on average a particular diabetes drug lower's one's A1C?

  2. furball64801

Thanks for the info Scottie thats great for some I wish it worked that well for me. I would hate to think what my A1c would be without it. I actually found the first time byetta brought my bs down to about a 6.0 or lower the problem was cost and the second time I went on byetta the A1c went up over 7.5 and that wasnt much fun.

  3. scottietwenty3

Im not on meds but I find it hard to imagine that on average met would drop someones A1C from say 7.5 to 6 as the endo claims it drops an average of 1.5 points on met.

Why You Shouldnt Eat Too Fast - How to Eat More Slowly. Brits only spend 41 minutes of their day, total, to eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner. To break that down, that means an average eating time of 8 minutes for breakfast, 13 minutes 45 seconds for lunch, and 19 minutes 27 seconds for breakfast. Americans take just a bit more time, with an average of one hour and 14 minutes a day spent eating the three major meals. While any one of us could easily justify the need for speed when it comes to eating (after all, there are always so many more things to get done in a day!), people who eat too quickly are likely to become obese, or develop metabolic syndrome, both of which increase your risk of heart disease, diabetes and stroke all of which can be deadly. ......................... 5 Dressings You Should Eat And 5 You Shouldn't

2018 Mashed.com. All rights reserved 5 dressings you should eat and 5 you shouldn't 5 dressings you should eat and 5 you shouldn't We all know we should eat our veggies, yet a plain salad tastes so much better when the leafy greens are drizzled in a flavorful dressing. The problem is that most salad dressings aren't necessarily the most nutritious way to finish greens if #health is your goal. Often devoid of nutrients, they add nothing nourishing to your salads. From Thousand Island to ranch, store-bought dressings are generally either high in fat content, full of sodium, overly sugary, or loaded with additives. The best way to avoid turning a healthy salad into a nutritional nightmare is to whip up light dressings yourself. Luckily, most are a cinch to prepare. Between opting for homemade dressings and skipping a few of the more notorious commercial types, you'll be well on your way to enjoying better salads. Here's a brief roundup of the good guys and the bad ones. Incorporating all varieties of citrus juices into your salad dressings is one healthy, refreshing, and irresistible way to get those much recommended servings of fruit into your daily diet. Most vinaigrettes have an a Continue reading >>

The Healthiest And Unhealthiest Salad Dressings

07/11/2013 11:11 am ETUpdatedDec 06, 2017 The Healthiest and Unhealthiest Salad Dressings Choosing salad over a sandwich or burger always makes for a healthier lunch, right? Thanks to hefty portion sizes, extravagant toppings, and certain brand name salad dressings that pack up to 200 calories and 20 grams of fat per serving, this may not always be the case. We tracked down nutrition information for the leading store-bought brands of ranch, thousand island, Caesar, and Italian/ vinaigrette salad dressings, and ranked them each, leading up to the one that has the most fat and calories (Credit: wikipedia commons). Click here to see The Unhealthiest Salad Dressings Further, most people tend to ignore their salad dressing's reported serving size, which is usually only two tablespoons. If the only way you can enjoy a salad is by drenching it in a cup of dressing, then you may not be getting the healthiest lunch you can. Click here to see The Healthiest Salad Dressings While you should remain wary of store-brand salad dressings with high fat and calorie contents, nutritionists remind salad-lovers not to shy away from fat altogether, and warn that low-calorie or low-fat dressings may not Continue reading >>

So, I'm fairly new to this idea that my body can't overcome something. My father has pre-diabetes and just recently started taking medication for diabetes. He controlled it via diet and exercise. Type 2.
I got results with A1C of 7.6% and fasting glucose of 148. Both in the diabetic range however Vitamin D was really low and cholesterol really high. From what I read those can both lead to diabetes.
I guess my question is can one test determine this? If so, is this high of sugar levels controllable without medication? I'm only 28 (in July) and this is all kind of overwhelming. I lost my shit over the weekend and kind of went into a cocoon. I have been dieting and exercising for the passed 2-3 weeks and already lost almost 20 lbs. (I was very inactive and terrible diet.)
I guess I am just looking to those who have type 2 and what their numbers were when they found out and what they have been doing since. I can't see an endo until late April.
Also, what fruits can I eat? I love grapes but nothing is yay or nay on them that I can find. So I don't feel like I should be eating them. Any other dieting tips? I am getting tired of salad :(

A meter & test strips can be purchased without a prescription. You might start keeping a food and activity diary and testing your blood once or twice a day to check for patterns. Carbs are generally more likely to elevate your levels, not just sugars. Get this under control early to avoid long term grief. YMMV
