A healthy small intestines meridian will protect the heart energy. An imbalanced small intestines meridian may cause low back pain, cramps in the legs, constipation, headaches, menstrual problems and neck and shoulder aches. Natural Treatment For Pancreas Problems

Natural Treatment For Pancreas Problems

What does the pancreas do? Where is it in the human body? What do I need to know about the pancreas? These are great questions to ask about the pancreas. There are some organs that everyone knows about. If you ask people to tell you where their heart is, they point right to it. In terms of organs, the pancreas is not as popular as the heart or the kidneys. Google searches indicate that comparatively, the pancreas is not searched as much as the heart, liver, kidneys, lungs or colon. However, do not let that sway you. The pancreas or pancreatic gland is extremely important to your overall health. You cannot live a normal life without it. Lets start with geography first. The pancreas can be found across the back of the abdomen, behind the stomach. One part of the pancreas is cradled in the curve of the duodenum, the first part of the small intestine. Next, what does the pancreas do? To put it simply, a lot. The pancreas is a multi-tasker; it is both an exocrine and endocrine gland. If it were on a football team, it would play both offensively and defensively. Being an endocrine gland, the pancreas manufactures special blood messengers or hormones that go into the blood system. One such hormone is the very well-known insulin. Anyone with diabetes knows the importance of insulin. Being an exocrine gland, the pancreas produces digestive enzymes that are released into the small intestine via ducts, valves, and chambers. The digestive enzymes of the pancreas break down everything that we eat--proteins, fats and carbohydrates-- into small particles that are absorbed into our guts wall. From there, these food particles get into our blood so that our bodies can use the food for cellular energy, building our cells, feeding our bodies with nutrients, minerals, and vitamins. How To Locate The Reflexology Pancreas Zone

How To Locate The Reflexology Pancreas Zone

How to Locate the Reflexology Pancreas Zone How to Locate the Reflexology Pancreas Zone How to Locate the Reflexology Pancreas Zone. The pancreas is a gland organ in the digestive system. The pancreas secretes digestive enzymes, hormones and other fluids such as insulin. With reflexology you stimulate and remove stress from the pancreas by applying pressure to certain zones on the hands and feet. Locating these zones is easy. Reflexology helps people keep their pancreas healthy. Allow the patient to relax and get comfortable before beginning. This is an essential part of reflexology. If the patient is not comfortable the body does not relax and adds more stress to more organs. Place the right hand of the patient in your hand. Rub your thumb down the patient's thumb and down to the palm of their hand. Apply pressure on the ridge of the hand in the fatty part below the index finger. This is a pancreas zone. Rub vigorously. Take the other hand into your hand. Repeat the process in Step 2 but apply the pressure below the middle finger instead of the index. For the best results, rub at the bottom of the hand close to the wrist. Place the patient's foot in your hands and rub on the middle inside of the arch. This is the same zone on both feet and stimulates the pancreas. Continue reading >>

/ Beat diabetes with acupressure and reflexology Beat diabetes with acupressure and reflexology Admin | Updated: September 25, 2014 4:11 pm This is part of a series of articles on alternative therapies that can beat diabetes. Even with medication, my sugar level which was detected at 300 mg/l did not come below 250 mg/l, says Deepti Parekh from Bangalore. As she also suffered from hypoglycaemia, the dosage of medicine could not be increased, and she endured attacks of shivering, break-out of sweat and considerable fatigue. With the help of Ketan Shah, a renowned Acupressure practitioner in Bangalore, the level stabilised at 120 mg/l, though medicines are still required. Acupressure is marvellous, she says, admitting to feeling much more in control of her life. Mr J Vohra, distributor of surgical equipment in Bangalore, too echoes the same sentiment as he has been able to bring down his sugar levels drastically, and halve the dosage of medication with Mr Shahs help. The entire approach on treating diabetes is different in Acupressure, says Mr Shah. Unlike Type 1 and Type 2 classification, this ailment is classified based on the organs that are affected. The first types of problem is when people drink much more water than before, and then feel tired and sleepy after food. These are the symptoms of spleen weakness, and hence by activating the spleen through its Acupressure point, the pancreas also get activated. The second type is that of excessive urination, leg pain and loss of weight which is due to bladder weakness, and hence activation of the bladder point and spleen point helps. Skin allergy and itching with diabetes is due to lung weakness, and therefore it is the lung point that is to be addressed. Body pain and sleepiness is a clear symptom of liver weakness, and Continue reading >>

Acupuncture For Pancreatic Cancer Pain Research

Acupuncture For Pancreatic Cancer Pain Research

Acupuncture For Pancreatic Cancer Pain Research Researchers conducted a randomized, placebo controlled study to investigate whether or not acupuncture reduces pain associated with pancreatic cancer. This type of cancer is often accompanied by severe abdominal or back pain. The researchers concluded that, Electroacupuncture was an effective treatment for relieving pancreatic cancer pain. A total of 60 pancreatic cancer patients with severe pain were randomly divided into two groups. Group 1 was the placebo control group and group 2 received verum acupuncture. The acupuncture points used in the study were the Jiaji points from T8 to T12, bilaterally, for a total of 30 minutes of acupuncture needle retention time per office visit. Treatment frequency was once per day for a total of 3 days of care. The pain intensity levels were assessed using numerically rated scales prior to the study, upon completion of the three sessions of acupuncture treatments and at a 2 day follow-up appointment. The placebo control group showed little to no change in pain levels. The electroacupuncture group showed a significant reduction in pain intensity levels. The improvements were measurable after the 3 sessioncompletion and at the 2 day follow-up appointments. As a result of the findings, the researchers conclude that acupuncture is successful in the reduction of pain associated with pancreatic cancer. Acupuncture for the treatment of patients with cancer became recognized as an important treatment application following a 1997 National Institutes of Health study showing that acupuncture is effective for treating nausea due to chemotherapy. Acupuncture.com - A Multifaceted Integrative Approach To Healing Chronic Pancreatitis - August 2008

In December 2006 the patient had a pancreatic attack which resulted in a hospital stay of four days and required the use of morphine for pain. He had been suffering with pancreatitis for two years. He blames this condition on the fact that he ate poorly during this time, mostly fast food with lots of fat and sugar. In a two-year period, he suffered four pancreatic attacks and two of these attacks resulted in hospital stays. His doctors ordered a blood test to see if amylase and lipase were elevated. They then confirmed he had pancreatitis by doing a CT scan. In early 2007, endoscopic ultrasound imaging showed that the head of the pancreas was enlarged and very heterogeneous with irregular gland borders, lobularity, hyperechoic and foci. These changes were also clearly identified in the neck, body and tail but were not as severe. The pancreatic duct was hyperechoic and irregular in the neck and body. The pancreas appeared diffusely swollen compared to the last examination. There were new calcifications in the head parenchyma. There was also a 7mm stone inside the main pancreatic duct (level of the head) before the bifurcation. After he recovered from this attack, the patient adjusted his diet and sought massage therapy. How Chinese Medicine views Chronic Pancreatitis This condition is discussed under abdominal pain and diarrhea in TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine).1 The pathogenesis is damp-heat phlegm statis obstructing the middle Jiao. In Western medicine, it is seen as chronic inflammation of the pancreas. Cholelithiasis and infection of the biliary tract causing reverse flow of the bile or a narrowed pancreatic duct can cause repeated attacks of pancreatitis. These are the most common causes of pancreatitis. If not successfully treated, this condition can lead to d Continue reading >>

Canine Acupressure & Pancreatitis: Meet Ben

Canine Acupressure & Pancreatitis: Meet Ben Nancy Zidonis - Friday, November 25, 2016 By Amy Snow and Nancy Zidonis, Tallgrass Founders This is the true story of Ben. Ben is a 13-year old Golden Retriever with a lovely large frame and a fading red coat. His guardians were told by their veterinarian that his pancreas had failed and it was best to put him down. Bens guardians decided to take him home. Lets back up on Bens story. His guardians were feeding him a relatively high-quality, dry, manufactured food. After a week on a new bag, Ben vomited yellow sudsy bile. They fed him par-boiled meat and rice for a few days and his stomach went back to normal. His guardians assumed it was a temporary upset and they fed Ben the same dry, manufactured food. And again, Ben vomited yellow sudsy bile. For some reason, this rotation of par-boiled meat and rice with the manufactured food went on a few more times. Ben was sick each time they gave him the dry food. Believe it or not, this is really true; they kept feeding him the manufactured food! Finally, Ben was very sick. He was completely lethargic and could not eat or defecate. His guardians rushed him to the veterinarian who thought it was time to put him down. Bens pancreatic function was zero. His guardians brought him home with the hope that natural therapies could bring him around. They live in Colorado very close to the Tallgrass offices and called us. I agreed to go over and see what I could do. Before going to see Ben, Nancy gave me suggested acupoints for pancreatitis. When I got there, Ben was lying flat and not moving a muscle. He didnt even pick up his head when I entered the living room. When I Opened Ben along the Bladder meridian my thumb dropped into deep, cold indents on both sides at the Stomach/Spleen Associati Continue reading >>
