Jeez! I really thought I would be the first one to give Medtronic's a review! but smarter people have beat me to it! Although I live in Abilene, TX and I deal with Medtronic Reps in this area, I want to give the Medtronic company and the representatives who help me; reviews. As for my pain neurostimulator, I give it 4 1/2 's.I have had this implant for about 10 years, maybe 11 years, and I could not live the life I live without it!I use it for pain in my back and neck; and the muscle spasms and tenseness in my legs, feet and also my neck and shoulder areas. so I have two leads. Only one battery though.I have to say that sometimes I don't notice how well it's working until I turn it off to charge the battery in my hip. it's then I realize how blessed I am to be able to do the things I do. Without it I would be writhing in pain in bed constantly!I don't have the leg and feet cramps that I struggled with before the implant. I was constantly curling up in pain from muscle cramps! My neck and shoulders don't hurt as bad. I am still very tensed in my shoulders and neck; but I am not constantly in severe pain!I do struggle with the newest battery implanted. It's smaller so unfortunately I have to charge it almost every other day. The plus side, it's not so much of a bulge showing. I don't feel it as much when I sit down. Or lie down. Which is much more than standing. My biggest complaint comes from the belt one uses to support the battery charger when in use.The glue around the plastic piece is cheap! and so is the plastic piece! I go through these I would say 4 to 5 times a year! Silliness!OK! Now we get to my favorite part part of the review! The favorite part being the representatives that I work with.Tammy Nelson is one of them. She has not worked often with me, but on occasi Continue reading >>

The company's products and services also include implantable neurological pain, tremor, spasticity, and incontinence management systems; heart valves; catheters and stents for angioplasty; implantable drug administration systems; hydrocephalic shunts; autotransfusion equipment; disposable devices for handling and monitoring blood during surgery; and instruments and devices used in surgical procedures of the head and spine and by ear, nose, and throat physicians. Medtronic was founded as an outgrowth of Earl Bakken's part-time work at Minneapolis's Northwestern Hospital. Although much of his time was consumed with graduate studies in electrical engineering, Bakken found time to repair the centrifuges, electrocardiograph machines, and other intricate electronic equipment at the hospital. Bakken and his brother-in-law, Palmer Hermundslie, surmised that they could make a living at repairing medical equipment. In 1949 Bakken quit school, and Hermundslie left his job at a local lumber company so that they could form the medical equipment repair service they dubbed "Medtronic." Bakken and Hermundslie initially worked out of a small garage in Minneapolis. During Medtronic's difficult Continue reading >>

Cardiac Mapping | Medtronic
The CardioInsight Noninvasive 3D Mapping Systemis a non-invasive mapping system that collects chest ECG signals and combines these signals with CT scan data to produce and display simultaneous, bi-atrial and biventricular, 3-D cardiac maps. The mapping enables physicians to characterize abnormal rhythms of the heart. Noninvasive Map without Catheterization Map anytime outside the EP lab throughout patient care pathway. Supports flexible patient management, procedural planning and lab use. Captures and panoramically displays rhythms that span multiple chambers or vary in cycle length, such as atrial fibrillation (AF). Produce maps with one beat's worth of data for infrequent, unstable rhythms, such as ventricular tachycardia (VT) or specific supraventricular tachycardias (SVTs). The CardioInsightTM system is based on the unique and patented Electrocardiographic Mapping (ECM) platform that combines body surface electrical data with heart-torso anatomical data to provide simultaneous, bi-atrial and biventricular 3-D maps of the heart's electrical activity. TheCardioInsight system uses a proprietary, single-use, disposable multi-electrode vest to capture electrical signals from the body surface. TheCardioInsight software provides various cardiac signal analyses and displays interactive 3-D color maps including activation, compositeand phase maps. This system has been used on more than 1,600 patients in Europe and the United States, and it also has been featured in more than 120 peer reviewedmanuscripts, abstracts and presentations.* The CardioInsight Noninvasive 3D Mapping System is intended for acquisition, analysis, display and storage of cardiac data and maps for analysis by a physician. Sometimes the best medicine is a short, sharp shock; that's why Medtronic's products reside in its customers' hearts and minds (among other places). A leading maker of implantable biomedical devices, the company makes defibrillators and pacemakers that issue electrical impulses or shocks to keep hearts beating normally. Its Cardiac and Vascular Group also produces catheters, stents, valves, balloons, and surgical ablation technologies used to treat vascular and heart disease. The company's Restorative Therapies Group makes nerve and brain stimulation devices, implantable drug delivery systems, products used to manage diabetes, and surgical devices for ear, nose, and throat (ENT) and spinal conditions. Medtronic got its start treating heart disease -- it was a leader in the development of pacemakers in the 1950s -- and a majority of its revenue still comes from sales of products used to treat heart or vascular conditions. However, it has expanded its reach into the rest of the human body, and the rest of the world, by offering products that treat neurological, musculoskeletal, and metabolic conditions as well. Within the Cardiac and Vascular Group, which accounts for about half of revenue, reside its Cardiac Rhythm & Heart Failure Disease Management (CRHF), Coronary & Structural Heart Disease Management (CSH), and Aortic & Peripheral Vascular Disease Management divisions. CRHF is Medtronic's largest single unit, accounting for about 25% of sales; the unit makes pacemakers, defibrillators, heart monitors, and other products used to keep the heart beating properly. The remaining Cardiac and Vascular units focus on minimally invasive technologies including drug-eluting stents to prevent reclogging of arteries (Coronary division) and aortic heart valves (Structural Heart), Continue reading >>

No walk-ins will be allowed. REGISTRATIONS ARE DUE by Close of Business Monday May 15, 2017. Join us at Medtronic on May 18 to learn about their journey integrating change management into their enterprise project management office. Medtronic has been on a journey in the past years to integrate change management into its enterprise PMO. Where dedicated change management resources had focused almost entirely on major ERP rollouts a few years ago, now these projects are actually only a minority of the work done by Medtronic's change management function. This is because change management became integrated into the required project management framework used across the enterprise, serving as a valuable intake process for the change management function. Join us to learn how Medtronic integrated change management across the enterprise. We'll take a look at a brief case study of how this growth and integration evolved and hear from organization leaders about the success observed in adopting this integrated framework. After this review, we'll hear from a panel representing senior leaders, middle management, and day-to-day users of the framework, with time for Q&A from attendees. The panel will be moderated by Scott Yager, Senior IT Program Manager for Organizational Readiness. Bruce Jankowski, VP Continue reading >>
