    My family went to my In-laws house this Sunday. I LOVE wife's family. I should not have gone, they ALWAYS feed me good. I always binge over there. This was no different, I was weak. Luckily this only happens once every few months.
    How long does it take to get back into ketosis after cheating. I just started lifting again this week so that should help. I also intend to keep running at least 2x a week. My new weekly diet is about 20-30 carbs a day. Started doing hard cheese and fatty meats for dinner to get my fat up for the day up and keep my carbs down.
    I fully expect some flaming, but knowledge would be more helpful.

    I think it will be slightly different for each person. After a carb load in the past I would return to ketosis usually within 12 hours or sooner.

    For me personally it can take 2 or 3 days, If I do a tabatta work out (20 sec. on and 10 sec. rest 4 min total time) I been able to cut it down to 24 hours. You basically have to get rid of all the stored glycogen in your body in order to start metabolizing fat for ketones. People usually use a HIIT work out since that taps into your glycogen stores for energy, steady state cardio wont cut it.
    Try the tabatta work out on sprints a treadmill or a elliptical, but remember its 20 seconds of INTENSE work don't cut yourself short and catch your breath for 10 seconds and repeat you should only be able to do 4 min of this. If you can go longer you cheated and did not do it right.
    I sometimes will throw fasting into the mix as well since your guaranteed no carbs and a low insulin levels. But no everyone can mentally do that.
