Tweet Inside the pancreas, beta cells make the hormone insulin. With each meal, beta cells release insulin to help the body use or store the glucose it gets from food. Insulin is prescribed to people with type 1 diabetes. This is because type 1 diabetes destroys beta cells in the pancreas, meaning that the body can no longer produce insulin. People with type 2 diabetes make insulin, but their bodies don’t respond well to it. Some people with type 2 diabetes may take pills or insulin shots to help their bodies use glucose for energy. I really never understood this 3 drug cocktail crap either. Considering it also has the chance to fail and be very painful as well, it seems quite stupid.
You have people overdosing on opioids left right and centre everyday. Why not just IV them an overdose of morphine, heroin, or fentanyl? Not only would it work but it would be the most humane and peaceful way to make someone go. They’ll get a nice high before passing out and then they’ll just stop breathing.
You could go even more extreme and use that elephant tranquilizer that’s apparently 100 times more potent than fentanyl.

Like really opioids should be the obvious choice as they will certainly work but they also provide all the calming and pain-killing effects you’d want. No matter what the person did, if you’re putting them to death you might as well give them a peaceful exit.

It is extremely difficult now to get pharmaceutical firms to supply execution drugs; they are often obtained from outside the U.S. It would be harder still to obtain compliance from those firms for drugs such as insulin. Possibilities for really poor PR there.

  • Why Was Bovine Insulin Used

Since no recombinant canine insulin is available, use of bovine or porcine insulin to treat diabetic dogs is common because the B chains of canine, bovine, and porcine insulin are identical. However, whereas canine and porcine A chains have identical amino acid sequences, canine and bovine insulins differ at positions 8 and 10. Therefore, porcine insulin can be considered a self-antigen in dogs, whereas bovine insulin is a heterologous protein. A p ...
